The <a href=\"https:\/\/trackbill.com\/bill\/west-virginia-senate-bill-609-second-chance-at-life-act\/2063853\/\">Second Chance at Life Act<\/a> requires that any woman who undergoes a chemical abortion by using the abortion pill must also receive information about the <a href=\"https:\/\/reverseabortionpill.com\">abortion pill reversal process<\/a>. After passing both the state <a href=\"https:\/\/archive.liveaction.org\/news\/west-virginia-house-bill-abortion-pill-reversal\/\">House<\/a> and Senate, it was ratified by Justice on April 28.<\/p>\n<p>Chemical abortion is a two-step process that involves taking two drugs over the course of several days. The first drug is mifepristone, which blocks progesterone and essentially starves the preborn child of nutrients. The second drug, misoprostol, creates strong contractions, causing the mother to deliver her dead child.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"YouTube video player\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/lRDnVSMr5j0\" width=\"640\" height=\"355\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen=\"allowfullscreen\"><span data-mce-type=\"bookmark\" style=\"display: inline-block; width: 0px; overflow: hidden; line-height: 0;\" class=\"mce_SELRES_start\">\ufeff<\/span><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Because the two drugs are taken several days apart, there is time for the mother to seek abortion pill reversal treatment to try and save her child after taking the first drug.\u00a0With the abortion pill reversal process, the mother is given an intensive progesterone regimen to counter the effects of the mifepristone.<\/p>\n<p>The earlier that she seeks help, the more likely it is that her child can be saved.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"YouTube video player\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/FSK9ptRccYM\" width=\"640\" height=\"355\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen=\"allowfullscreen\"><span data-mce-type=\"bookmark\" style=\"display: inline-block; width: 0px; overflow: hidden; line-height: 0;\" class=\"mce_SELRES_start\">\ufeff<\/span><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>It is not unusual for a mother to experience feelings of regret after taking the first pill. Now, thanks to WV&#8217;s new law, mothers in the state will know where to turn if they experience immediate regret. Information about the Abortion Pill Reversal Hotline will be given to the mother and posted on the West Virginia Department of Health and Human Services website. Through the hotline and other outreach by the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/reverseabortionpill.com\">Abortion Pill Rescue Network<\/a>\u00a0organization, more than 2,000 preborn children have been saved from abortion.<\/p>\n<p><strong>READ:\u00a0<em><a href=\"https:\/\/archive.liveaction.org\/news\/west-virginia-doctors-liability-abortion-pill-reversal\/\">West Virginia lawmakers protect doctors who provide abortion pill reversal from liability<\/a><\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Pro-life leaders hailed the new legislation. &#8220;National Right to Life applauds West Virginians for Life, Gov.
