Despite the fact this country has had legalized abortion on demand since Roe v. Wade<\/em> for the past 40 years, we continue to see more people becoming pro-life – especially the younger generation – and fewer abortions and Planned Parenthood clinics.<\/p>\n

\"h\"In 1975 about 1,000,000 abortions were performed, according to the Planned Parenthood-founded Alan Guttmacher Institute (AGI). In 1985, the number peaked at slightly over 1.5 million before falling to current levels around 1.2 million. However, the growth rate of our nation\u2019s population is higher compared to the abortion rate, so even though these numbers aren\u2019t as low as we\u2019d like them to be, the trend is actually more pronounced when population is compared across these time periods.<\/p>\n

According to a report<\/a> from the Guttmacher Institute in 2008, the abortion rate has fallen 33% since its peak in 1980, its lowest level since 1974. Also according to the Family Research Council<\/a>, there has been a 50% decrease in abortions among minorities from 1985 to 1999 thanks to “parental involvement” laws. In 2008, there were 36 states with these laws at the time. Dr. Michael New, a professor from the University of Alabama, conducted this study and claims that the teenage abortion rate decreases by over 13% when a state enacts laws in which parental consent or any parental permission is involved.<\/p>\n

In 2009, Gallup conducted a poll<\/a> in which more people identified themselves as pro-life than pro-abortion for the first time since the poll began in 1995. It was conducted in May of that year and found that 51% were pro-life and 42% were “pro-choice.”<\/p>\n

It is also amazing to see the number of abortion workers who are leaving the practice. A look at the updates of Abby Johnson\u2019s “And Then There Were None” organization on Facebook shows that there are abortion clinic workers leaving by the dozens, because people are being tired of the lies of abortion over the years, and they\u2019re finally hearing the truth about it.<\/p>\n

With more technology, medical science shows that life begins at conception. Even though Obama, the most pro-abortion president we\u2019ve ever had, has been re-elected, this does not mean we ever give up. Unlike what the mainstream media wants us to think, we are still making good progress, and we need to continue to do so. We just have to continue being brave, preaching the truth, and doing good work.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
