After an abortion, it is not unusual for <\/span>women<\/span><\/a> to experience a series of complex emotions. There may be immediate feelings of relief which eventually give way to sadness, guilt, or anger \u2014 but no matter their circumstances, post-abortive women deserve to know they are worthy of healing.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

According to <\/span>The Leaven<\/span><\/a>, a chance encounter enabled pro-life advocate Debra Niesen to help another woman do just that.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

In a story she wrote for the outlet, Niesen revealed that in 2019, she was distributing tickets for the pro-life film \u201cUnplanned\u201d when she met a woman who was struggling with a past abortion. \u201cClare\u201d (name changed to protect privacy) approached Niesen to share her story as Niesen was preparing to leave.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cThough I know it will be difficult, I think the Holy Spirit is moving me to see this movie,\u201d Clare told Niesen. \u201cI\u2019ve never told anyone this before, but long ago, I had an abortion. I think it is time for me to face what I\u2019ve buried for so long.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

Clare said that when she was 20 years old, she went to Planned Parenthood for an abortion. But instead of counseling her through her options, Clare told Niesen that they \u201csimply moved through the process\u201d without providing any information about where to locate pregnancy resources, nor did they warn her about the risks<\/a>\u00a0of\u00a0<\/span>abortion<\/span><\/a>.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Niesen wrote that her heart \u201cbroke for [Clare].\u201d She noted that Clare was \u201csold a lie when she was most vulnerable. The abortion industry made her believe her only and easiest option was to end the life of her child.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

As Live Action News has previously reported,\u00a0<\/span>Planned Parenthood<\/span><\/a>\u00a0often coerces women like Clare into abortion by withholding information on\u00a0<\/span>fetal development<\/span><\/a>\u00a0or convincing women that\u00a0<\/span>abortion<\/span><\/a>\u00a0is somehow a \u201cquick\u201d and \u201ceasy\u201d solution to a challenging pregnancy.<\/span><\/p>\n
