The increase occurred despite the fact that Planned Parenthood\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/archive.liveaction.org\/news\/planned-parenthood-60m-battle-defund\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">voluntarily<\/a>\u00a0walked away from an estimated annual $60 million in annual federal\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/archive.liveaction.org\/news\/five-facts-planned-parenthood-family-planning\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Title X<\/a>\u00a0family planning tax dollars in August of 2019. The abortion corporation refused the funding rather than comply with a Trump administration rule requiring Title X recipients to keep abortion services and facilities separate fiscally and physically from birth control facilities and staff. According to Centers for Disease Control data from <a href=\"https:\/\/archive.liveaction.org\/news\/cdc-report-57-percent-drop-abortions-1990\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">2018<\/a>, abortions nationwide\u00a0have dropped\u00a0nearly 57%\u00a0from the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.cdc.gov\/mmwr\/preview\/mmwrhtml\/00049084.htm#00002629.htm\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">peak<\/a>\u00a0recorded in 1990. The Guttmacher Institute&#8217;s\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/archive.liveaction.org\/news\/us-abortion-rate-lowest-roe-v-wade\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">2017<\/a>\u00a0data shows that the\u00a0U.S. abortion rate hit its\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/archive.liveaction.org\/news\/us-abortion-rate-lowest-roe-v-wade\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">lowest point<\/a>\u00a0since\u00a0<em>Roe v. Wade<\/em>.<\/p>\n<p>Despite national declines, Planned Parenthood&#8217;s market share of abortions is expanding. In <a href=\"https:\/\/www.plannedparenthood.org\/uploads\/filer_public\/67\/30\/67305ea1-8da2-4cee-9191-19228c1d6f70\/210219-annual-report-2019-2020-web-final.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">2019-2020<\/a>, Planned Parenthood committed over 41% of all abortions nationwide when compared with Guttmacher&#8217;s most recent data.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Planned Parenthood loses donors<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>In the past decade, on paper it appears that Planned Parenthood has only lost 110,000 donors, but a closer look at Planned Parenthood&#8217;s <a href=\"https:\/\/www.plannedparenthood.org\/uploads\/filer_public\/80\/d7\/80d7d7c7-977c-4036-9c61-b3801741b441\/190118-annualreport18-p01.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">2017-2018<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.plannedparenthood.org\/uploads\/filer_public\/67\/30\/67305ea1-8da2-4cee-9191-19228c1d6f70\/210219-annual-report-2019-2020-web-final.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">2019-2020<\/a> annual reports reveals that the organization has actually lost nearly one million donors (910,000) in more recent years.<\/p>\n<p>In\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.plannedparenthood.org\/uploads\/filer_public\/80\/d7\/80d7d7c7-977c-4036-9c61-b3801741b441\/190118-annualreport18-p01.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">2017-2018,<\/a>\u00a0Planned Parenthood reported\u00a01,500,000 active individual contributors \u2014 a record high.\u00a0However, by\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.plannedparenthood.org\/uploads\/filer_public\/2e\/da\/2eda3f50-82aa-4ddb-acce-c2854c4ea80b\/2018-2019_annual_report.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">2018-2019,<\/a>\u00a0that support dwindled by\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/archive.liveaction.org\/news\/planned-parenthood-lost-400000-donors-last-year\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">400,000<\/a>, dropping to 1.1 million active donors.<\/p>\n<p>Stunningly, in Planned Parenthood\u2019s\u00a0most recent report, it seems the corporation has lost almost\u00a0<strong>half<\/strong> of its existing donors, dropping to just\u00a0<strong>590,000<\/strong> for <a href=\"https:\/\/www.plannedparenthood.org\/uploads\/filer_public\/67\/30\/67305ea1-8da2-4cee-9191-19228c1d6f70\/210219-annual-report-2019-2020-web-final.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">2019-2020<\/a>. The administration is not only seeking to do away with the <a href=\"https:\/\/archive.liveaction.org\/news\/taxpayer-funded-abortion-hyde-poor-abortion-industry\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Hyde Amendment<\/a> \u2014\u00a0a pro-life rider which prohibits federal dollars from paying for most abortions \u2014\u00a0but are seeking to pass legislation solidifying <em>Roe v. Wade<\/em> as the law of the land, and passing legislation to force taxpayers to fund abortions.<\/p>\n<p>The abortion lobby\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/archive.liveaction.org\/news\/planned-parenthood-always-making-sure-fewer-people-have-children-heres-proof\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">claims<\/a>\u00a0poor women need the public to pay for their abortions while knowing full well the statistics which show that taxpayer-<a href=\"https:\/\/archive.liveaction.org\/news\/taxpayers-fund-abortion-more-happen\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">subsidized<\/a>\u00a0abortion means <em><strong>more<\/strong> <\/em><b><i>abortions<\/i><\/b>, as the Guttmacher Institute noted in\u00a0a 2017\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/archive.liveaction.org\/news\/surprise-guttmacher-survey-shows-women-get-taxpayer-funded-abortions-may-abortions\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">survey<\/a>. This means the abortion industry stands to gain financially should its friends in Congress succeed in doing away with Hyde.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Private donation amounts on the decline<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>As taxpayer funding to Planned Parenthood increases, private donations are declining.<\/p>\n<p>In <a href=\"https:\/\/www.plannedparenthood.org\/uploads\/filer_public\/80\/d7\/80d7d7c7-977c-4036-9c61-b3801741b441\/190118-annualreport18-p01.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">2017-2018<\/a>, 38% of Planned Parenthood&#8217;s revenue came from private donations, topping taxpayer dollars by $67 million. That same year, taxpayer dollars to Planned Parenthood accounted for\u00a034% of revenue.
