2) Reminding us that our position on life defines our society,\u00a0Senator Marco Rubio<\/a><\/strong>, at the Susan B. Anthony List annual dinner:<\/p>\n

The issue of life is not a political issue, nor is it a policy issue, it is a definitional issue. It is a basic core issue that every society needs to answer. The answer that you give to that issue ends up defining which kind of society you have.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

I don\u2019t see how a person can separate their private life from their public life or their faith. Our faith informs us in everything we do. My faith informs me about how to take care of the vulnerable, about how to make sure that people have a chance of life.<\/p>\n

Now, you want to ask about why I\u2019m pro-life. It\u2019s not simply because of my Catholic faith. That\u2019s a factor of course. But it\u2019s also because of reason and science.<\/p>\n

You know, I think about ten and a half years ago, my wife Janna and I went to Mercy hospital in Janesville where I was born for our seven week ultrasound for our first born child, and we saw that heart beat. Our little baby was in the shape of a bean, and to this day we have nick named our first born, Liza, bean.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

4) Taking a courageous stand on the reality of modern science and innocent life,\u00a0Canadian MP Stephen Woodworth<\/a><\/strong>:<\/p>\n

Don\u2019t accept any law that says some human beings are not human beings!\u00a0 No Member of Parliament should remain silent in the face of any law that says some human beings are not human beings.<\/p>\n

Now there might be some people who can convince themselves that a child magically transforms into a human being when their little toe pops out of the birth canal\u2026However, I\u2019ve concluded that modern medical science will inform us that children are in reality human beings at some point before the moment of complete birth.<\/p>\n

History is littered with disastrous examples of laws which pretended some people were not human beings to achieve some desired result or suit someone\u2019s philosophy\u2026Just laws must be based on accurate evidence, not arbitrary lines unrelated to reality.\u00a0 If there\u2019s no objective criteria for who\u2019s a human being, then personhood and the fundamental rights that go with it can be defined in any way any powerful person or group decides.\u00a0 Is that the Canada you want?<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

5) Personalizing the issue and demonstrating the true strength of women in the face of adversity, an anonymous mother<\/strong> who wrote her story, “My Miracle Baby,” on the Embrace Grace blog<\/a>:<\/p>\n

It wasn\u2019t until I met Bryan when everything changed.\u00a0 He was supposed to end up being a one night stand but the plans changed.\u00a0I happened to get pregnant with a miracle baby. …\u00a0<\/em>In the back of my mind, I kept thinking, what if God is giving me a miracle baby to help me? What if this time, a baby would change everything? All of these thoughts went through my head as I sat there and listened to Bryan talk down to me about the pregnancy and how big of a mistake it was. I just sat there let him go off on me but when he was done, it was like God lifted me up and spoke for me. I said, ‘I am keeping this baby and there is absolutely nothing you can do nor say that will change my mind.’<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

6) Poignantly putting the issue in perspective, a friend of mine,\u00a0Amy Kerschner<\/strong>, on Facebook:<\/p>\n

If we were to honor every child murdered through\u00a0an abortion procedure in the United States from 1973 to the present day with that same moment of silence, we would be silent for 95 years.<\/p>\n

We ignore their helplessness, we advocate their slaughter, we are indifferent, we are apathetic, and we allow the election of leaders whose goal is to accelerate the number of children killed each year.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

7) Reminding us that womanhood has never been defined by intentionally killing our own children,\u00a0Lila Rose<\/strong>, in “Battle hymn of the anti-abortion feminist,” published on\u00a0Politico<\/a>:<\/p>\n

We are women who view the intentional killing of children not as a constitutional right, a matter of privacy or a necessary evil but, rather, as profoundly anti-woman and the antithesis of love.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

8) Sending a message to teens on the unspeakable horror of killing another innocent person and on our ability to choose to be different, despite our society, quotes from the\u00a0Hunger Games<\/em>\u00a0trilogy by\u00a0Suzanne Collins<\/strong> (Granted, these books were published prior to 2012, but they were made even more popular by the movie, which came out in 2012. Hence,\u00a0the quotes<\/a>\u00a0deserve a place on this list.):<\/p>\n

It sends out a very clear message: \u2018Mess with us and we\u2019ll do something worse than kill you. We\u2019ll kill your children.\u2019 –\u00a0The Hunger Games<\/em><\/p>\n

But I don\u2019t know what to tell him about the\u00a0aftermath of killing a person. About how they never leave you<\/em>. –\u00a0Mockingjay<\/em><\/p>\n

Only I keep wishing I could think of a way\u2026to show The Capitol they don\u2019t own me. That I\u2019m more than a piece in their games. – The Hunger Games<\/em><\/p><\/blockquote>\n

9) Exposing the shocking truth behind Planned Parenthood,\u00a0Catherine Glenn Foster<\/strong>\u00a0of Alliance Defending Freedom, in an earth-shatteringly accurate\u00a0blog post<\/a>:<\/p>\n

Planned Parenthood doesn\u2019t make its money by providing prenatal care, facilitating adoptions, teaching new parents how to care for their children, or even preventing parenthood for the 329,445 women whose babies it aborted in 2010.\u00a0Its business is death<\/a>. …<\/p>\n

And with\u00a046%<\/a>\u00a0of Planned Parenthood\u2019s $1.04 billion budget coming from taxpayer dollars, you and I are helping to fund these atrocities taking place in our nation\u2019s\u00a0biggest, shiniest abortion offices<\/a>. 10) Encouraging us to keep up the good fight, the late\u00a0Andrew Breitbart<\/a><\/strong>, of the famed Breitbart.com, at a speech about his pro-life conversion after being raised in a town where you simply had to be pro-choice.<\/p>\n

I don’t think I would have seen the light if there were not brave people like you who stood up to that.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

11)\u00a0Reminding us that every single life \u2013 including the disabled and \u201cunwanted\u201d \u2013 has a precious value,\u00a0TIME<\/em>\u2018s\u00a0Joe Klein<\/strong><\/a>,\u00a0on Bella Santorum:<\/p>\n

I am haunted by the smiling photos I\u2019ve seen of Isabella with her father and mother, brothers and sisters. No doubt she struggles through many of her days \u2014 she nearly died a few weeks ago \u2014 but she has also been granted three years of unconditional love and the ability to smile and bring joy. Her tenuous survival has given her family a deeper sense of how precious even the frailest of lives are.<\/p>\n

All right, I can hear you saying, the Santorum family\u2019s course may be admirable, but shouldn\u2019t we have the right to make our own choices?<\/p>\n

Yes, I suppose. But I also worry that we\u2019ve become too averse to personal inconvenience as a society\u2014that we\u2019re less rigorous parents than we should be, that we\u2019ve farmed out our responsibilities, especially for the disabled, to the state\u2014and I\u2019m grateful to Santorum for forcing on me the discomfort of having to think about the moral implications of his daughter\u2019s smile.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

12) Proclaiming that the face of abortion is the face of an innocent child, the\u00a0former abortionist’s nurse<\/strong>\u00a0in\u00a0October Baby<\/em><\/a>:<\/p>\n
