Upon news that Argentina has officially legalized abortion<\/a>, their neighbor in South America has responded. Paraguay’s House of Representatives denounced the legalization as a “tragedy,” and reaffirmed its pro-life stance.<\/p>\n

The House began by holding a moment of silence, at the request of Congressman Ra\u00fal Latorre. The video, along with Latorre’s statement, was released by the press office of the Paraguayan Congress. \u201cI ask for a minute of silence for the thousands of lives of Argentinian brothers and sisters who are going to be lost, even before they are born, based on the recent decision made by the Senate of the neighboring country,” Latorre said, while most of the members present stood solemnly and quietly.<\/p>\n
