American Life League, a Catholic pro-life grassroots organization, has released a new research report highlighting Planned Parenthood\u2019s continued history of racial discrimination and targeting. <\/span>\u201cPlanned Parenthood\u2019s Racism\u2026 In Their Own Words<\/a>,\u201d acknowledges Planned Parenthood founder Margaret Sanger’s dedication to the philosophy of eugenics<\/a>, but focuses primarily on consolidating the multi-billion dollar corporation\u2019s own affiliates\u2019 admissions of the corporation’s systemic and structural racism, white supremacy, and implicit bias.<\/span><\/p>\n

American Life League Executive Director Jim Sedlak said the report is \u201ctaken from recent public statements of Planned Parenthood affiliates operating in 33 states and their employees.\u201d Rather than being a historic or past-tense coverage of Planned Parenthood\u2019s founding in Eugenics, Sedlak emphasizes that the documents show \u201cthat Planned Parenthood openly admits it is a racist organization today.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

Planned Parenthood\u2019s long-time denial of its racist founding came crashing down in the summer of 2020, when employees at Planned Parenthood of Greater New York \u2014 followed by\u00a0employees at Planned Parenthood Great Plans \u2014 issued <\/span>statements<\/span><\/a> complaining of internal racism perpetrated by their president and CEO, Laura McQuade.<\/span><\/p>\n

Planned Parenthood\u2019s board of directors removed<\/a> McQuade from her position, where she was reportedly profiting $428,321 by 2018. They also removed Sanger\u2019s name<\/a> from the corporation’s flagship facility in Manhattan, as Live Action News reported.<\/span><\/p>\n

The report then explains the ripple effect these two admissions had:<\/span><\/p>\n

Although the happenings at PPGNY seemed originally to be a local matter, it suddenly exploded into a nationwide admission by Planned Parenthood affiliates of being racist organizations.\u00a0<\/span><\/em><\/p>\n

So far, 19 Planned Parenthood affiliates have issued public statements\u2026 not only recognizing the racism of Sanger, but admitting to being racist today<\/strong>. In making these statements, the affiliates referred to their organizations as being guilty of \u201cwhite supremacy\u201d (12 times), \u201cstructural racism\u201d (10 times), \u201cimplicit bias\u201d (6 times), and \u201csystemic racism\u201d (5 times).<\/span><\/em><\/p>\n

In addition to ALL\u2019s findings of internal racism<\/a>, Live Action previously released an <\/span>investigation<\/span><\/a> revealing the willingness of Planned Parenthood workers to accept donations specifically to abort Black babies. Black women account for 38% of all abortions, though the Black community comprises just 12% of the population. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention statistics reveal\u00a0Black abortions outnumbered<\/a> the\u00a0top nine leading causes\u00a0of\u00a0death<\/a>\u00a0for Black Americans combined in 2016, the most recently reported year.<\/span><\/p>\n

As ALL\u2019s report highlights and as Live Action continues to reaffirm, Planned Parenthood\u2019s history of deadly racism continues to the present day. As Sedlak puts it, \u201cAnyone concerned about the continuing racism in the United States of America should have nothing to do with Planned Parenthood.\u201d<\/p>\n
