In a book of stories of men and women hurt by abortion, Robin Buckner describes being pressured into an abortion by her boyfriend and workers at Planned Parenthood. She describes the Planned Parenthood facility by saying, \u201cIt was cold, the staff was calloused and used high-pressure tactics.\u201d<\/p>\n

She says they took her money immediately, \u201ceven before they got any information regarding my body or health.\u201d<\/p>\n

Before her abortion, Buckner was shown a three- to four-minute “educational” video. She says the video didn\u2019t prepare her for the trauma of the abortion or its aftermath:<\/p>\n

I was treated like a lab rat. When the doctor (I assumed it was a doctor) and whoever was assisting him came into the room, neither of them acknowledged me, asked me any questions, introduced themselves or even checked to see who I was. They turned on a loud machine, I began to cry, they placed a mask on my mouth and nose and, before I knew it, the abortion was underway.<\/em><\/p>\n

At one point, Buckner tried to stop the abortion, but the abortionist ignored her. “I tried telling them ‘no’, but it was too late,” she says. “Tears rolled down my face, I heard a thud in a metal container, and it was over. I became sick to my stomach but there was no one left in the room to help me.<\/p>\n

Buckner describes spending the night after the abortion at her boyfriend\u2019s house, \u201cwaking up with cramps, chills, and heartache throughout the rest of the day and night.\u201d<\/p>\n

Soon after the abortion, Buckner and her boyfriend broke up. Buckner believes the abortion was the reason the relationship ended.\u00a0She also developed complications after the abortion, including an infection. She says, “The clinic refused to treat me or help in any way\u2026 There was no follow-up appointment, no checkup, no counseling; just emptiness, shame and loneliness.”<\/p>\n

She now regrets not considering adoption, saying, “Every time I hear of people who cannot conceive, I think back to the moment I went through with the killing of my baby and feel deep regret that I did not take measures to find a loving home for my baby instead.”<\/p>\n

The abortion began wreaking havoc on her relationships with loved ones. She says, “I began lashing out at those around me due to grief. I pushed people away for a very long time, but no one knew why I was behaving so harshly because I was too ashamed to tell anyone what I had done.”<\/p>\n

Former Planned Parenthood workers<\/a>\u00a0have admitted\u00a0to using<\/a> the same type of\u00a0 \u201chigh-pressure tactics<\/a>\u201d to sell abortions that Buckner experienced.<\/p>\n
