In the recent Vice-Presidential debate between Republican candidate and current VP Mike Pence and Democratic candidate Senator Kamala Harris, references were made by Harris regarding the need to listen to \u201cscience\u201d when determining public policy. In response, several abortion advocacy groups echoed the sentiment on social media.<\/p>\n

Planned Parenthood’s political action arm tweeted<\/a>, “Vote for the person on the stage who will listen to science and health experts. Every time.”<\/p>\n

But if listening to \u201chealth experts\u201d is paramount, no one should be listening to Planned Parenthood, which only\u00a0masquerades<\/a>\u00a0as a health care organization. Over the past years, its clientele and services have\u00a0plummeted<\/a>\u00a0while the organization’s number of abortions and taxpayer dollars increased. Never far from scandal, hundreds of Planned Parenthood’s own staffers\u00a0have even claimed<\/a>\u00a0the organization is \u201csteeped in white supremacy<\/a>.\u201d<\/p>\n

NARAL Pro-Choice America\u00a0\u2014 with its own\u00a0history<\/a>\u00a0of eugenics and present-day\u00a0charges<\/a>\u00a0of racism \u2014\u00a0tweeted<\/a>, “We’ve seen a pattern with [the Trump] administration. They don’t believe in science. But you know who does believe in science? Kamala Harris and Joe Biden.”<\/p>\n

Even abortionist Daniel Grossman suggested in a tweet<\/a>\u00a0that VP Mike Pence denies the “science” surrounding abortion. Grossman \u2014\u00a0who directs a group funded<\/a> by the abortion pill’s manufacturer and who presides over abortion pill expansion trials\u00a0\u2014\u00a0neglected to point out that the study he referenced was\u00a0heavily funded<\/a> by global abortion supporters.<\/p>\n

Pro-lifers on social media hit back at pro-abortion claims on social media, noting that\u00a0science<\/em> proves that human life begins at fertilization<\/a>\u00a0(conception).<\/p>\n

In order to deny long-held scientific evidence regarding the humanity of the preborn child in the womb, abortion advocates do what others have done in seeking to single out an entire group of people: dehumanize<\/a> them.<\/p>\n

Abortion advocates have weaponized<\/a>\u00a0language to downplay<\/a>\u00a0and even deny facts about human fetal development, including the fact that an\u00a0embryonic heartbeat<\/a> can be detected just weeks after fertilization. They have\u00a0claimed<\/a> that “late-term abortion” is a medically inaccurate term\u00a0invented to “distort the truth.”<\/a>\u00a0And they have even advised<\/a> abortion businesses to avoid using humanizing language like “baby,” and to normalize<\/a> the idea that there is no moral distinction between parenting a child and ending a child\u2019s life in an abortion.<\/p>\n

But this dehumanizing rhetoric only works when discussing abortion. After all, they are fully aware that the baby in the womb is human. Even Planned Parenthood’s website features a\u00a0section<\/a>\u00a0on fetal development which acknowledges\u00a0that at 5-6 weeks, “A very basic beating heart and circulatory system develop.”<\/p>\n

In addition, at\u00a0 7-8 weeks, when many abortions are committed, the abortion corporation acknowledges that:<\/p>\n

  • The heart has formed.<\/li>\n
  • Webbed fingers and toes develop.<\/li>\n
  • The arms bend at the elbows.<\/li>\n
  • External ears, eyes, eyelids, liver, and upper lip begin forming.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

    When a woman is carrying a “wanted” child, fetal development matters. When she is carrying an “unwanted” child, suddenly that child is dehumanized as a ‘clump of cells.’ Do the descriptions above sound like a ‘clump of cells’ or a human being?<\/p>\n

    A practice bulletin on \u201cearly pregnancy loss\u201d\u00a0published<\/a>\u00a0by the pro-abortion<\/a> American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists (ACOG) at one time stated that a heartbeat is a sign of life for the preborn child in the womb. In ACOG’s sixth edition book, \u201cYour Pregnancy and Childbirth Month to Month,\u201d\u00a0ACOG clearly acknowledges that the preborn child in the womb is a developing human.<\/p>\n

    A previous Live Action News article<\/a> noted:<\/p>\n

    The preborn baby develops rapidly, with a heartbeat that begins beating between 16 and 21 days after fertilization. By four weeks, the buds which will become the baby\u2019s arms and legs are formed. At five weeks, the eyes begin to develop, along with the stomach and the liver. By six weeks, the preborn baby has paddle-like hands and feet, and brain waves can be detected.<\/em><\/p>\n

    At seven weeks gestation, the preborn baby\u2019s bones begin to grow, and all four chambers of the heart have formed. The baby\u2019s eyelids start to cover the eyes at eight weeks, along with 90% of all bodily structures present in adults. By nine weeks, hair follicles are forming all over the baby\u2019s body, as well as fingernails and toenails.<\/em><\/p>\n

    At 10 weeks…the baby can swallow, scratch his head, and form fists.<\/em><\/p>\n
