Last weekend in Argentina, a newborn baby girl was found in a plastic bag with knife wounds and a rusty knife driven into her back. According to the Metro<\/a>, 31-year-old gym instructor Diego Sebastian Penayo was walking down a street when he heard a baby crying.<\/p>\n

Penayo discovered a yet living but wounded baby girl wrapped in a plastic bag and a pink and blue blanket with a rusted knife in her back. He took her to the nearest police station.<\/p>\n

From there, the baby girl was taken to Paediatric Hospital Dr. Fernando Barreyro, where medics discovered additional knife wounds. The medical team named her Esperanza, which means hope, and said they believe that at the time of her injuries, she was no more than a couple of days old.<\/p>\n

Police believe that her mother gave birth at Hospital Dr. Ramon Madariaga Treble before walking down a street nearby and abandoning the baby. It is said she has been identified and arrested.<\/p>\n
