One of the constant refrains from pro-aborts advocating to keep abortion legal is that it keeps abortion safe. Botched abortion<\/a> after botched abortion<\/a> shows, though, that even legalized abortion isn’t always safe. Nor do abortionists always put the health of women first. From forced abortions<\/a> to an abortion house of horrors<\/a>, there are numerous examples that show that legal abortion does not always equal safe abortion.<\/p>\n

In that vein, an abortion clinic in Falls Church, Virginia was one of the many businesses affected by Hurricane Sandy. The clinic suffered leaking water, flooding, and mold. Rather than recognizing that this was not a sanitary medical environment, though, staffers threw down towels…and continued providing abortions<\/a>.<\/p>\n

\u201cSo we got in around 5:30 a.m., there is two inches of water in the surgery room, water on the carpets, two offices totally soaked, water leaking in from our large windows\u2026we put out hundreds of towels and started mopping up\u2026 we started seeing patients at ten a.m.”<\/em><\/p>\n

… It has finally stopped raining in Virginia, and while things are getting somewhat easier, they are still not back to normal. Codding, for example, has been dealing with the aftermath of soaked carpets and the need to eliminate mold, which can cause a special risk to staff and patients with asthma. And of course, she and her staff, who heroically rose to the occasion for several days running and had to add heavy-duty cleanup to their already crowded work lives, are tired.<\/p>\n

The willingness of Rose Codding and the staff of FCHC to go to such lengths to keep open in the face of natural disasters mirrors other stories I have heard over the years\u2014stories which speak both to women\u2019s determination to get their abortions, no matter what, and the abortion-providing community\u2019s attempt to accommodate these women.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

The fact that these people see abortion<\/em> after a natural disaster which has left millions of people without food, water, shelter, or electricity as some kind of empowering social work for the community just goes to show how twisted their mind-view is.<\/p>\n

But that isn’t the truly disturbing part.<\/p>\n

On what planet is it safe to perform surgery under those conditions? And Falls Church Healthcare Center<\/a> does indeed perform first-trimester surgical abortions…presumably in their surgery room, which was flooded with two-plus inches of water. There was also water leaking into the clinic, issues with mold, flooded offices. Those do not sound like clean, sanitary conditions under which to practice medicine. Not only that, but operating rooms generally are supposed to be sterile. But apparently that’s not an issue when abortions need to be performed.<\/p>\n

Time and again, abortionists prove that they aren’t interested in the “safe” part of “safe, legal, and rare” mantra that they tout so frequently. If it comes between making their blood money and the safety of women, the money will come first each time.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
