She became pregnant by a man she was only casually dating and chose to have an abortion. Her mother tried to stop her from aborting and encouraged her to have the baby. Despite this, and despite the guilt she felt because of her sister&#8217;s struggle with infertility, she went through with the abortion anyway. When she was at the abortion business, she saw her baby on the ultrasound screen and it troubled her, but she did not change her mind on having the abortion.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Laying in the table\/chair for the ultrasound seemed easy at first till then I saw this tiny circle inside of me and a heartbeat I could hear,&#8221; she wrote. &#8220;Something inside me moved to this&#8230; maybe it&#8217;s apart [sic] of being a woman and it&#8217;s in our nature. It touched me deeply, but I still knew my decision didn&#8217;t change. In my mind, I already planned to have an abortion. I didn&#8217;t want to have a baby with a man I barely knew nor did I love him.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">\u00a0<iframe loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/lRDnVSMr5j0\" width=\"640\" height=\"355\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen=\"allowfullscreen\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>She still remembers the date of her abortion, and the heavy bleeding and the intense pain she suffered because of the abortion pill:<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\"><em>I was laying on my bed &#8230; suddenly I had a rush through my body and before I knew it. My bed and myself included was covered in blood. I ran to the bathroom stripped everything off and climb[ed] into the shower then just sat on the floor crying. As I see blood just going on endlessly with clotting\/tissue. I just had the hardest time with it because it really was the worse [sic] pain I&#8217;ve ever felt in my life. I just couldn&#8217;t stay in the same clothes at all without soaking them.<\/em><\/p>\n<p>A month later, she was still bleeding so heavily that she went to the emergency room. It took a long time for her to physically recover from the abortion pill, despite the abortion industry claiming it is similar to a monthly period.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;I eventually got better, but that itself is a process with not just mentally but physically as well,&#8221; she explained. &#8220;My body took a lot of time to heal and still had clotting coming out even after almost it being a month ago. I made an ER visit along with going to the gynecologist, even after my official two week follow up with the clinic. She found herself wondering about her baby:<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\"><em>After it happened I wont lie apart [sic] of me was very sad. I didn&#8217;t plan to have a child and I tried so hard not to rub my stomach, think what was the sex of the baby, and so much more. But it would be a lie to say that all these things didn&#8217;t once cross my mind, when in fact all of them did.<\/em><\/p>\n<p>She described her boyfriend as being \u201cjust as devastated about it as I was.\u201d She finished the testimony by saying that abortion was the best choice she and her boyfriend could have made. But she is still \u201cdevastated\u201d by it. Like many post-abortive women, she tells herself that abortion was the right choice even as she wonders about her baby and suffers emotionally.<\/p>\n<p>The question remains why women believe that abortion remains the best choice for them even through all the pain and suffering it causes.
