{"id":228249,"date":"2020-08-03T08:35:16","date_gmt":"2020-08-03T13:35:16","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.liveaction.org\/news\/?p=228249"},"modified":"2020-08-03T17:33:06","modified_gmt":"2020-08-03T22:33:06","slug":"dad-sidewalk-counselor-planned-parenthood-changed-mind","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/archive.liveaction.org\/news\/dad-sidewalk-counselor-planned-parenthood-changed-mind\/","title":{"rendered":"Dad tells sidewalk counselor outside Illinois Planned Parenthood: &#8216;You guys changed our mind&#8217;"},"content":{"rendered":"<div style=\"margin-top: 0px; margin-bottom: 0px;\" class=\"sharethis-inline-share-buttons\" ><\/div><p>A couple has chosen life for their baby thanks to a pro-life presence outside Planned Parenthood in Aurora, Illinois.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;A week ago, we were thinking about coming here and, you know, getting an abortion and everything but&#8230; then we saw how many people out here&#8230; actually kinda care\u2014and we were right across the street over there\u2014and&#8230; me and my wife were just looking and we were just saying, like, &#8216;Man, a lot of people do care about this,'&#8221; the husband explained to John from Pro-Life Action League, which shared the video on Facebook.<\/p>\n<p>Because there were pro-life people outside the Planned Parenthood, the couple decided not to go through with an abortion, but if no one had been there that day they may have gone through with it.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><iframe loading=\"lazy\" style=\"border: none; overflow: hidden;\" src=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/plugins\/video.php?href=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.facebook.com%2Fprolifeaction%2Fvideos%2F627051241548825%2F&amp;show_text=1&amp;width=560\" width=\"640\" height=\"355\" frameborder=\"0\" scrolling=\"no\" allowfullscreen=\"allowfullscreen\"><span data-mce-type=\"bookmark\" style=\"display: inline-block; width: 0px; overflow: hidden; line-height: 0;\" class=\"mce_SELRES_start\">\ufeff<\/span><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;To me it&#8217;s murder if you do this. To me it&#8217;s murder,&#8221; he explained, sharing that they found out about the pregnancy when his wife was eight weeks along. The couple took the time to do their own research into abortion and learned about the development of the baby, including the information that their baby had a heartbeat and arms and legs.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Then we read that you actually see the baby when you take the [abortion] pill, or whatever, like I think it&#8217;s like two pills in there, they told us about. And &#8230; that would traumatize me. I think that would just literally <a href=\"https:\/\/archive.liveaction.org\/news\/research-post-abortion-trauma-real\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">traumatize<\/a> me,&#8221; he said. &#8220;I just couldn&#8217;t go through that and my wife, she can&#8217;t go through that.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>He asked the pro-lifers to pray for him to find a better job and added that he hopes God will make it work out for his family. The couple already has two children and feels God will help them through this difficult time.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">\u00a0<iframe loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/lRDnVSMr5j0\" width=\"640\" height=\"355\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen=\"allowfullscreen\"><span data-mce-type=\"bookmark\" style=\"display: inline-block; width: 0px; overflow: hidden; line-height: 0;\" class=\"mce_SELRES_start\">\ufeff<\/span><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;God put you guys in front of us because He told us &#8212; we were parked right there and we were just staring over here and we were just thinking about it, thinking about, thinking about it and we were just looking at the baby&#8217;s pictures [images of abortion victims] like, we can&#8217;t do that. But I thank all you guys for being out here,&#8221; he said. &#8220;I thank you guys so much, man, because honestly, you guys changed our mind. I feel like if you guys weren&#8217;t here that day we probably would have stepped in there.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>He added that he hopes a lot of people change their minds like he did because it&#8217;s a &#8220;good&#8221; feeling to have chosen life even though it&#8217;s &#8220;scary&#8221; to have another baby. He told them that he knows that if people who don&#8217;t even know him care about his baby and his family, then God must care too.<\/p>\n<p>Pro-life sidewalk counselors make a huge difference in the lives of the men, women, and children they help outside of abortion facilities. This is the sole reason why abortion groups such as <a href=\"https:\/\/archive.liveaction.org\/news\/pro-abortion-naral-attacking-pregnancy-centers\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">NARAL Pro-Choice America<\/a> are working so hard to push laws that will ban the presence of pro-life advocates outside abortion businesses.
