The <a href=\"https:\/\/www.liveaction.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/07\/SurveyResultsFinal.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">survey<\/a>, which was commissioned by Live Action and conducted by <em>the polling company, inc.<\/em>, spoke with approximately 1,200 people, most of whom are registered voters, about how they felt regarding the abortion pill and whether their feelings changed after being given accurate medical information.<\/p>\n<p>At the beginning of the survey, 36% of the respondents identified as pro-life, while 44% said they were pro-choice. In total, 45% of respondents supported the abortion pill regimen remaining legal; they were then shown a video explaining how this particular procedure works.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><iframe loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/u-LJRPgQ5sQ\" width=\"640\" height=\"355\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen=\"allowfullscreen\"><span data-mce-type=\"bookmark\" style=\"display: inline-block; width: 0px; overflow: hidden; line-height: 0;\" class=\"mce_SELRES_start\">\ufeff<\/span><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>After viewing the video, the percentage of respondents who continued to support the abortion pill dropped to 39% while the percentage opposed increased to 42% \u2014 a total swing of 17 percentage points. Women were more likely to change their minds than men, with a 29 point swing among suburban women in particular. When asked why they changed their minds, respondents said it was due to the information about prenatal development, and realizing that the abortion pill works by killing a human life or a baby.<\/p>\n<p>Other individual facts changed how respondents viewed the abortion pill. For example, 54% of respondents said that removing FDA regulations and placing women at risk of undiagnosed ectopic pregnancy, as well as making the drug available to minors, would make them <em>less<\/em> likely to support the abortion pill. Only 18% of respondents said this information made them <em>more<\/em> likely to support it.<\/p>\n<p><strong>READ:\u00a0<em><a href=\"https:\/\/archive.liveaction.org\/news\/abortion-pill-secrecy-women-deserve-truth\/\">The abortion pill is shrouded in secrecy, but women deserve to know the truth<\/a><\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Lila Rose, Live Action&#8217;s founder and president, responded to the survey with a continued call to see the abortion drug removed from the United States market.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cLive Action\u2019s survey confirms that accurate medical information on the procedure and prenatal embryology shifts hearts and minds away from the abortion pill. And accurate medical information is exactly what the abortion industry doesn\u2019t want women and the public to have,&#8221; Rose said <a href=\"https:\/\/www.liveaction.org\/apksurvey\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">in a statement<\/a>. &#8220;While the abortion industry plots to expand the abortion pill at the expense of children\u2019s and women\u2019s lives, human rights groups and medical associations are working to sound the alarm and stop the bloodshed. Every American needs to know what this deadly drug does to children and women. Live Action\u2019s survey takes the pulse on the American public and provides a blueprint for our next steps to stop the killing and ban the drug.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Live Action&#8217;s Abortion Procedures video is a similar project, which explains how the pill affects both mother and baby using non-graphic animation.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><iframe loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/lRDnVSMr5j0\" width=\"640\" height=\"355\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen=\"allowfullscreen\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>The <a href=\"http:\/\/https:\/\/www.liveaction.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/07\/abortion_pill_report_final.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">investigative report<\/a> recently released by Live Action, written in consultation with the American Association of Pro-Life OB\/GYNS (AAPLOG), makes it clear why the abortion pill regimen needs to be pulled by the FDA. The abortion pill is reportedly\u00a0<a href=\"&lt;a href=\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">four times more dangerous<\/a> than surgical abortion, and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.liveaction.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/07\/ExecSummary.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">thousands of adverse events<\/a> have been reported. Countless more may remain unreported to the FDA, as emergency departments do not have to report complications to the agency. At least <a href=\"https:\/\/www.fda.gov\/drugs\/postmarket-drug-safety-information-patients-and-providers\/questions-and-answers-mifeprex\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">24 known women<\/a> have died from the abortion pill. Women have also suffered\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.fda.gov\/drugs\/postmarket-drug-safety-information-patients-and-providers\/questions-and-answers-mifeprex\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">serious side effects<\/a>, including uterine hemorrhaging, viral infections, and sepsis.
