Abortion businesses have largely remained open\u2014in some cases for abortion only<\/a>\u2014amid the COVID-19 pandemic, despite other non-essential businesses being forced to close temporarily. While abortionists have continued to oversee the deaths of thousands of innocent preborn children and put women at risk of contracting coronavirus, the facilities themselves have gone uninspected in the state of Pennsylvania, which was once home of the abortion business of late-term abortionist and convicted killer Kermit Gosnell.<\/p>\n

According to Maria V. Gallagher<\/a>, Legislative Director of the Pennsylvania Pro-Life Federation, the most recent inspection of abortion facilities listed with the Pennsylvania Department of Health took place five months ago in February. It is likely, said Gallagher, that scheduled inspections were canceled due to the pandemic.<\/p>\n

“This state of affairs is especially troubling, given the Health Department’s historic negligence when it comes to abortion center oversight,” wrote Gallagher. “For a period of more than 15 years, abortion facilities went uninspected in the Keystone State — a victim of pro-abortion politics.”<\/p>\n

Believing that abortion facilities would close if they were subject to inspection, former Governor Tom Ridge, an abortion advocate, allowed inspections to lapse during the days when Gosnell’s abortion practice was in full swing. This lack of inspections continued with the next governor as well, according to Gallagher. Current Governor Tom Wolf is also pro-abortion and was once an escort at an abortion facility<\/a>. Had it not been for a drug raid<\/a> on the infamous “House of Horrors” abortion business run by Kermit Gosnell, he might still be in the abortion business today.<\/p>\n

The DEA found the late-term abortion business was filthy<\/a>, with carpet soaked with urine and feces, blankets covered in bloodstains, unsterilized and rusty medical instruments, and untrained staff administering medication to women. Gosnell even kept multiple jars filled with the feet of aborted children. Gosnell was eventually convicted of murdering three newborns, though it is understood that he killed countless other newborns who survived abortions by “snipping” their spinal cords with surgical scissors. He was also convicted of involuntary manslaughter in the death of his patient Karnamaya Mongar and he is serving three consecutive life terms. His crimes went unknown and hidden for years because the Health Department turned a blind eye to abortion facility inspections.<\/p>\n

Now that abortion businesses are not currently being inspected during the pandemic, there may be other instances of abuse occurring at these facilities.<\/p>\n

“For the health and safety of women throughout the Commonwealth,” said Gallagher, “the Wolf Administration needs to inspect abortion facilities, post the results, and establish absolute transparency when it comes to abortion center regulation.\u00a0Otherwise, officials in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania would have learned nothing from the painful legacy of Kermit Gosnell.”<\/p>\n
