He added, \u201cIt takes a life,\u201d and said \u201cthis administration appreciates and knows that our rights come from God, not government.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Pompeo argued, \u201cAmerica sets the tone for the rest of the world in this respect, and our administration has defended the rights of unborn like no other administration in history.\u201d Pompeo touted the administration\u2019s \u201c100% pro-life foreign policy,\u201d which includes reinstating the <a href=\"https:\/\/archive.liveaction.org\/news\/trump-policy-saved-100m-international-abortions\/\">Mexico City policy<\/a>, which means, Pompeo said, \u201cnot a single dime of American taxpayer money will ever go to a foreign NGO that performs active abortions anywhere in the world.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><strong>READ:\u00a0<em><a href=\"https:\/\/archive.liveaction.org\/news\/trump-administration-cuts-ties-world-health-organization\/\">Trump administration cuts ties with pro-abortion World Health Organization<\/a><\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Pompeo quoted the Bible in affirming that life begins at conception. Reciting Psalm 139 (\u201cYou knit me together in my mother\u2019s womb\u201d), he stated, \u201cThis is when life begins, full stop.\u201d While Pompeo chose to quote from the Bible, his assertion that life begins at conception\/fertilization is not a religious one. It is <a href=\"https:\/\/archive.liveaction.org\/news\/scientific-fact-human-life-begins-conception\/\">a biological fact<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><iframe loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/bHe8YGPGzj4\" width=\"640\" height=\"355\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen=\"allowfullscreen\"><span data-mce-type=\"bookmark\" style=\"display: inline-block; width: 0px; overflow: hidden; line-height: 0;\" class=\"mce_SELRES_start\">\ufeff<\/span><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Further evidence of the Trump administration\u2019s commitment to pro-life foreign policy can be seen in the State Department\u2019s previous assertion that <a href=\"https:\/\/archive.liveaction.org\/news\/trump-abortion-not-human-right\/\">abortion is not a human right<\/a> and the administration\u2019s <a href=\"https:\/\/archive.liveaction.org\/news\/us-blocks-pro-life-un-members-ignore\/\">lobbying efforts the United Nations<\/a> and other international bodies. Earlier this year, in response to COVID-19 relief funds that would include elective abortion, the United States <a href=\"https:\/\/www.christianpost.com\/news\/trump-administration-blasts-un-abortion-push-with-covid-19-aid-funds.html\">issued a statement<\/a>:<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\"><em>There is no international right to abortion, nor is there any duty on the part of the state to finance or facilitate abortion.\u201d The statement continued, \u201cWe do not accept references to \u2018sexual and reproductive health,\u2019 or other language that suggests or explicitly states that access to abortion is included in the provision of population and individual level health services.<\/em><\/p>\n<p>In addition to combatting attempts to define abortion as a human right, Pompeo has also called out nations committing human rights abuses through forced abortion.
