UPDATE, 7\/28\/20<\/strong>: Authorities have ruled that Dr. Mike Adams died from a self-inflicted gunshot wound<\/a>. According to a friend, Adams had been “under a lot of stress” in recent weeks.<\/p>\n

7\/23\/20<\/strong>: Dr. Mike Adams, stalwart pro-life activist, noted columnist, and longtime University of North Carolina-Wilmington professor of criminology, was found dead in his North Carolina home today at the age of 55. At the time of this article, no cause of death has been released.<\/p>\n

Adams was known for his tenacity and his unwillingness to shy away from controversy, and his ability to effectively articulate pro-life, conservative viewpoints in hostile environments. Over the years, he wrote columns that earned him both admirers and enemies, and was frequently attacked by pro-abortion activists and far left media for his views. According to media reports, Adams was set to retire from UNCW on August 1.\u00a0He\u00a0reportedly received<\/a> $500,000 in a settlement from the university, and his retirement was part of that agreement.<\/p>\n

Once an atheist and liberal Democrat, Adams eventually became a pro-life Christian and Republican, and his articulation of the pro-life position was incredibly effective.\u00a0In February of 2019, Adams handily defeated abortionist Willie Parker\u2014who claims to be a “Christian abortionist”\u2014in an unforgettable debate in which Parker admitted that he had killed tens of thousands of preborn human beings. As reported at the time by Live Action News<\/a>:<\/p>\n

Adams used his opening 20 minutes to clearly point out, using embryology and even video evidence, that the preborn entity in the womb is indeed a human being. \u201cMy first premise is that it is wrong to intentionally kill an innocent human being. My minor premise is that abortion does intentionally kill an innocent human being\u2026 and my conclusion is that therefore, abortion is wrong,\u201d Adams said.\u00a0Adams pointed out that it is not vague when life begins, nor is it something strictly religious in nature. We should consult the science of embryology, he said, effectively pointing out how Parker, in his autobiography, \u201cLife\u2019s Work,\u201d contradicts embryology….<\/em><\/p>\n

Adams eventually got Parker to admit that yes<\/strong>, abortion kills human beings, and that he has killed tens of thousands of human beings in his life\u2019s work….<\/em><\/p>\n

During this debate, Dr. Adams played footage featuring images of abortion victims. As noted in the Live Action News report, “The debate<\/a> lasted nearly two hours \u2014 but it truly only took about 20 minutes for Adams to clarify the pro-life position in such a way that made Dr. Parker\u2019s comments thereafter seem unconvincing to many.”<\/p>\n
