Abortion businesses have been using COVID-19 as a loophole <a href=\"https:\/\/archive.liveaction.org\/news\/abortion-industry-capitalize-covid-19-expand\/\">to promote dangerous do-it-yourself abortions<\/a>\u00a0rather than lose money from abortion sales during the pandemic.<\/p>\n<p>REMS (Risk Evaluation and Mitigation Strategy) is a drug safety protocol that the FDA can place on certain drugs that carry a risk of serious complications. In this case, the American Civil Liberties Union filed a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.aclu.org\/legal-document\/american-college-obstetricians-and-gynecologists-v-united-states-food-and-drug\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">lawsuit<\/a> on behalf of the pro-abortion American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists asking for an emergency order to forgo the REMS regulation that requires patients to go to a medical facility to obtain the abortion pill, known as mifepristone.<\/p>\n<p>Siding with the abortion industry\u2014which has no interest in women&#8217;s safety\u2014U.S. District Judge Theodore Chuang ruled that &#8220;in-person requirements&#8221; for obtaining the abortion pill create a &#8220;substantial obstacle&#8221; to abortion. He said that &#8220;in light of the limited timeframe during which a medication abortion or any abortion must occur, such infringement on the right to an abortion would constitute irreparable harm.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>However, it is the opposite that is true. It is not imperative that a woman undergoes an abortion as she would need to undergo chemotherapy. Abortion is not about healing <em>her<\/em> or extending <em>her<\/em>\u00a0life, but about\u00a0<em>ending<\/em> the life of her child. This &#8220;timeframe&#8221; is the space between fertilization and birth &#8212; birth being the moment when a human being finally <em>earns<\/em> his humanity by simply passing through the birth canal.<\/p>\n<p>The abortion industry denies the humanity of the children it kills, and in its desire to push to allow DIY abortions, affirms that it doesn&#8217;t care about the lives of women either.<\/p>\n<p><strong>READ:\u00a0<em><a href=\"https:\/\/archive.liveaction.org\/news\/no-test-contact-abortion-covid-works-time\/\">\u2018No test\u2019 abortion isn\u2019t the abortion industry\u2019s response to COVID-19. They planned it years ago.<\/a><\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The purpose of undergoing a physical examination before taking the abortion pill is to ensure the gestational age of the child is not more than 10 weeks, that the woman is either <a href=\"https:\/\/archive.liveaction.org\/news\/no-test-abortion-pill-rh-testing-children\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Rh negative or positive<\/a>, and that the pregnancy is not ectopic. In any of these cases, taking the abortion pill poses a potential health risk to the woman, including the possibility of future pregnancy loss, hysterectomy, and death.<\/p>\n<p>In the video below, former abortionist Dr. Anthony Levatino describes the abortion pill process and the potential risks to women who take it:<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><iframe loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/lRDnVSMr5j0\" width=\"640\" height=\"355\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen=\"allowfullscreen\"><span data-mce-type=\"bookmark\" style=\"display: inline-block; width: 0px; overflow: hidden; line-height: 0;\" class=\"mce_SELRES_start\">\ufeff<\/span><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/archive.liveaction.org\/news\/abortion-pill-dangerous-safety-requirement\/\">Twenty-four known women<\/a>, including 18-year-old <a href=\"https:\/\/archive.liveaction.org\/news\/family-members-die-legal-abortion-not-safe\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Holly Patterson<\/a>, have died after taking the abortion pill. Patterson died seven days after beginning the abortion pill regimen\u2014the same day she was scheduled to return to Planned Parenthood for her followup to ensure the abortion was complete. Yet the abortion industry doesn&#8217;t think women need to be seen in person <em>at all<\/em>\u00a0and has recently begun <a href=\"https:\/\/archive.liveaction.org\/news\/alarming-abortion-pill-ultrasounds-guess\/\">promoting &#8220;no test&#8221; abortion<\/a>, which is exactly what it sounds like\u2014no lab tests, no confirmation of gestational age, no ruling out of life-threatening ectopic pregnancy before the pill is dispensed.<\/p>\n<p>Thousands of additional women have experienced serious complications and even hospitalizations from taking the abortion pill, but it is impossible to know the true number of complications. Half of all U.S. states aren&#8217;t even <a href=\"https:\/\/archive.liveaction.org\/news\/how-dangerous-abortion-pill\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">required to report<\/a> complications from abortions, and some abortion groups <a href=\"https:\/\/archive.liveaction.org\/news\/abortion-workers-lie-miscarriages\/\">instruct women to lie<\/a> when they go to the emergency room and claim they are having natural miscarriages.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"aligncenter wp-image-227265\" src=\"https:\/\/archive.liveaction.org\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/07\/ACOG-tweets-523x700.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"457\" height=\"612\" srcset=\"https:\/\/archive.liveaction.org\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/07\/ACOG-tweets-523x700.jpg 523w, https:\/\/archive.liveaction.org\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/07\/ACOG-tweets-224x300.jpg 224w, https:\/\/archive.liveaction.org\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/07\/ACOG-tweets-500x669.jpg 500w, https:\/\/archive.liveaction.org\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/07\/ACOG-tweets.jpg 568w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 457px) 100vw, 457px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>According to a report in <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov\/pmc\/articles\/PMC1785176\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">MedGenMed<\/a>, &#8220;In the first trimester, when chemical abortions are supposed to take place, the pills cause 4x the complications as surgical abortion. In fact, &#8216;the risk of death appears to be 10 times greater with medical abortion (chemical abortion) than with surgical abortion.'&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>In addition, if the abortion pill were to fail, the woman would be at risk of infection. Women can also suffer extreme blood loss that may require hospitalization and blood transfusions. &#8220;For the about 5 percent of women whose babies are not killed and expelled by the drugs, a surgery is required basically to save the woman&#8217;s life as infection can set in if the dead infant or tissue remains in a woman&#8217;s womb to fester,&#8221; stated MedGenMed.<\/p>\n<p>Live Action founder and president Lila Rose <a href=\"https:\/\/www.liveaction.org\/fdaregs\/\">issued a statement<\/a> in response to today&#8217;s news, saying in part:<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\"><em>&#8230; The abortion pill regimen works by starving the developing embryo of nutrients and forcibly expelling him or her from the mother\u2019s body. This lethal regimen is approved by the FDA to kill children up to the tenth week of pregnancy, though abortion businesses and clinical trials openly dispense it <a href=\"https:\/\/archive.liveaction.org\/news\/planned-parenthood-abortion-pill-fda-limit-failing\/?utm_campaign=LANDD%20LD&amp;utm_source=hs_email&amp;utm_medium=email&amp;utm_content=88637055&amp;_hsenc=p2ANqtz-9aBM0wee3ON1xGsNCj4VOpz8iiK3Pmwh4x2G_Irh_tlGlQv0oGXy_iQtnuY2fmrPQhy01WMlk7BEEjb-8Ic_AaqDakJQ&amp;_hsmi=88637055\">further<\/a> into pregnancy.\u00a0<\/em><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\"><em>This is a sad day for women and children across the country. By pushing to enjoin the FDA REMS regulations, the abortion industry, which profits off of killing children, has revealed its ugly lack of care towards pregnant women. Our reporting shows that Danco, the abortion pill manufacturer, is veiled in secrecy&#8230;.<\/em><\/p>\n<p>The abortion pill doesn&#8217;t save women&#8217;s lives; it endangers them.
