Planned Parenthood\u2019s<\/span><\/a> largest abortion<\/a> center in Texas may no longer be the first option for women facing an unplanned pregnancy. The Prestonwood Pregnancy Center has located its southwest Dallas office next door to the nation\u2019s largest abortion provider, reminding pregnant women of the resources available to them. The pro-life organization is dedicated to serving clients with compassion, and offers practical support through sonograms, pregnancy tests, childbirth classes, counseling, and medical referrals.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cAn unplanned pregnancy is one of the greatest challenges a woman can face, especially during a time of economic hardship like the one we are living through,” Leanne Jamieson, the director of Prestonwood\u2019s newest location, told Fox News<\/a>. “Our mission is to meet these women where they are and let them know they are not walking this road alone.”<\/span><\/p>\n

The pregnancy center was started back in 1991 by Pastor Jack Graham of the Prestonwood Baptist Church, who recognized the need for women to have alternatives to abortion. Since its founding, the organization has offered valuable services to women who otherwise might have been driven toward abortion, all at no cost.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

To connect women to quality care and counseling, the center also introduced two mobile clinics in 2018, in addition to its two offices in Texas. The vans have since traveled around the Dallas-Fort Worth area, reaching out to women and offering them medical services within their own community.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cI truly believe this relocation is the greatest opportunity we\u2019ve had in our 29 years of operating to offer hope where it\u2019s been lost, to offer a better choice that leads to life instead of death and to show grace and love at the very moment when many women are their greatest need,” Graham said.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Opening next to Planned Parenthood to remind women they have a different decision they can make is working. Since moving across from the abortion provider, the Prestonwood Pregnancy Center has seen a 50% increase in its number of clients. Ninety percent of those women who went to Prestonwood instead of the nearby Planned Parenthood chose life for their preborn children.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Despite the falsehoods that <\/span>Planned Parenthood<\/span><\/a> and its allies routinely try to spread about pregnancy centers, smearing them as \u201cfake clinics,\u201d the <\/span>Charlotte Lozier<\/span><\/a> Institute has tracked the numerous benefits pregnancy centers provide to their individual neighborhoods. In 2017 alone, these pro-life groups helped almost two million people, and the free services they provide are estimated to save communities <\/span>$161 million annually<\/span><\/a>.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

In contrast, Planned Parenthood\u2019s 2018-2019 annual report revealed that it received over $600 million in taxpayer funding and committed\u00a0more than 345,000 abortions<\/a>.<\/span><\/p>\n

Women who are scared because of unplanned pregnancies deserve more than abortion as they navigate through their difficult journeys, and pregnancy centers offer them vital support.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n
