Health care is meant to save and preserve life. Abortion\u2014the act of intentionally killing a living human being in the womb\u2014goes directly against this, and therefore, is not health care. Since abortion’s legalization, the public has been led to believe that abortion is just another health care decision. They have been repeatedly told that abortion should be kept “safe”<\/a> by ensuring that the decision is between a \u201cwoman and her doctor\u201d and takes place in reputable facilities<\/a>. Until, that is, more recent years in which the abortion industry has moved toward promoting do-it-yourself (DIY) at-home abortions with as little oversight of clients as possible.<\/p>\n

In truth, the abortion industry<\/a>\u00a0has always been focused on the one thing: the profitable\u00a0business<\/a>\u00a0of selling abortions.<\/p>\n

Abortion is big business<\/strong><\/p>\n

Planned Parenthood understands that there is significant profit<\/a> to be made from abortion.\u00a0The abortion corporation rakes in over half a billion<\/em> taxpayer dollars annually and reports massive amounts of\u00a0excess revenue<\/a>\u00a0each year.\u00a0Almost every year<\/a>\u00a0since 2000, Planned Parenthood\u2019s revenue has exceeded its expenses by\u00a0tens of\u00a0millions<\/em>\u00a0of dollars. A Live Action News\u00a0analysis<\/a>\u00a0found<\/a>\u00a0that in\u00a02017<\/a>, the corporation\u2019s estimated abortion revenue reached over $190 million, which means that\u00a052% <\/strong>of Planned Parenthood’s non-government health services revenue comes from abortion<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

While abortion industry executives tend to receive six-figure incomes<\/a>, they admittedly depend on part-time, low-wage<\/a> workers. Planned Parenthood employees recently\u00a0claimed<\/a>\u00a0that a pay inequity exists<\/a> between white and minority employees.<\/p>\n

Abortion is no longer a private decision between a woman and her doctor<\/strong><\/p>\n

The abortion industry has lowered the standard of care for women by passing laws allowing non-physicians to commit abortions \u2014 including nurses, certified nurse-midwives, and physicians\u2019 assistants. The move has nothing to do with safety for women and everything to do continuing to make a profit. The industry’s own studies reveal that\u00a0fewer and fewer doctors<\/a>\u00a0wish to provide abortions.<\/p>\n

The abortion industry is unwilling to prioritize the safety of women\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n

Year after year, the abortion lobby invests time and money fighting reasonable abortion safety regulations. They do not support abortion facility licensing, basic health inspections, nor the right for women to receive the same level of care<\/a> at an abortion facility as they would at an actual health care provider. They oppose<\/a> abortion facilities being held to the same standard as other surgical centers and openly acknowledge that requiring abortionists to have hospital admitting privileges would bankrupt or close abortion facilities.\u00a0As a result, the abortion\u00a0industry has attracted<\/a> multiple seedy characters<\/a>\u00a0like Kermit Gosnell<\/a>\u00a0and others, unwilling to prioritize the safety of women over profit.<\/p>\n

Live Action News has documented the\u00a0deaths<\/a>\u00a0of multiple women from so-called safe and legal abortion. While mainstream media rarely, if ever, reports on these cases, pro-life groups across the country regularly document the seemingly endless string of women being rushed to emergency rooms from abortion facilities, including Planned Parenthood centers. Despite these tragic cases, data on the number of\u00a0abortion complications<\/a>\u00a0in the U.S. is\u00a0sketchy<\/a>\u00a0at best, largely because there are\u00a0no<\/em>\u00a0federal requirements requiring abortion complications to be reported.\u00a0Even studies claiming that\u00a0abortion is perfectly safe<\/a>\u00a0are often\u00a0funded<\/a>\u00a0by abortion power players, raising concerns about the data they choose to publish.<\/p>\n
