According to pro-life watchdog group\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.operationrescue.org\/archives\/whistleblower-2-women-suffered-gruesome-injuries-retained-baby-parts-emergency-surgery-after-late-term-abortions-in-maryland\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Operation Rescue<\/a>, the abortions were both committed at 25 weeks gestation at the facility formerly known as Abortion Clinics.org\u2014now known as CARE (Clinics for Abortion and Reproductive Excellence). Maryland is one of just eight states that has no gestational age limit on abortions.<\/p>\n<p>The anonymous whistleblower who first reported the injuries was a witness to the gruesome incidents which occurred on May 12 and 21, 2020. Operation Rescue was able to obtain incident reports from the Montgomery County Maryland Fire and Rescue Service for both emergencies. Both women were transported by ambulance to Shady Grove Adventist Hospital in Rockville, though Carhart does not have admitting privileges there\u2014and therefore, the emergency medical staff likely did not know the full extent of the women&#8217;s injuries.<\/p>\n<p><em><strong><span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">WARNING:<\/span> The description of injuries below may be disturbing to some readers.<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n<p>The incident <a href=\"https:\/\/www.operationrescue.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/06\/5-12-Incidents.-10401-Old-Georgetown-Rd-1.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">report<\/a>\u00a0from the May 12 emergency shows that upon arrival at the hospital, Patient #1 was in critical condition due to life-threatening injuries that occurred during a Dilation and Evacuation (D&amp;E) dismemberment abortion at 25 weeks. At this age, preborn children are known to feel pain. In a D&amp;E abortion, the abortionist brutally kills a preborn child by tearing the child&#8217;s limbs from his body. In this case, the abortionist punctured Patient #1&#8217;s uterus and caused additional internal injuries. She was taken in for emergency surgery and the whistleblower told Operation Rescue that it was &#8220;the most horrific thing I have ever seen.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><iframe loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/jgw4X7Dw_3k\" width=\"640\" height=\"355\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen=\"allowfullscreen\"><span data-mce-type=\"bookmark\" style=\"display: inline-block; width: 0px; overflow: hidden; line-height: 0;\" class=\"mce_SELRES_start\">\ufeff<\/span><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Patient #1 reportedly had a &#8220;huge&#8221; hole in her uterus and her bowels were &#8220;mangled.&#8221; Parts of her baby were still inside her womb, some of which had been shoved through the hole in her uterus, including one of the baby&#8217;s legs. According to Operation Rescue:<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\"><em>She was bleeding heavily from a ruptured uterus and other internal injuries, in shock, and on the verge of unconsciousness, according to the whistleblower.\u00a0 She was also feverish \u2013 hot to the touch \u2013 and showing signs of sepsis.<\/em><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\"><em>Within minutes, the patient was rushed into the operating room for emergency surgery.\u00a0 Once her belly was opened, it was determined that her internal injuries were so severe that a call was made for a general surgeon.\u00a0<\/em><\/p>\n<p>The damage to the woman&#8217;s body was too difficult to fully repair and her bowel was resected. She received a colostomy with an external bag and was discharged nine days later.<\/p>\n<p>Patient #2, injured on May 21, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.operationrescue.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/06\/5-21-Incidents.-10401-Old-Georgetown-Rd-2.pdf\">suffered injuries<\/a> that included a perforation in her uterus about 8-9 inches wide. The woman arrived at the emergency room in &#8220;very critical&#8221; condition following a D&amp;E abortion at 25 weeks. The damage was so extensive that a hysterectomy had to be performed and she reportedly received four units of blood &#8220;just to keep her alive.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p><strong>READ:\u00a0<em><a href=\"https:\/\/archive.liveaction.org\/news\/family-members-die-legal-abortion-not-safe\/\">They lost their family members to legal abortion. They know it isn\u2019t as \u2018safe\u2019 as they were told.<\/a><\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Parts of her baby were also pushed through the hole in her uterus and into her abdominal cavity. The baby was mostly still intact except for a missing arm and portion of the spinal column. Operation Rescue noted that the child&#8217;s &#8220;head was still attached, but only by a strip of flesh,&#8221; also noting that &#8220;The whistleblower indicated that it was quite upsetting to see a nearly complete fetus pushed inside the abdominal cavity, and wondered about the force it took to shove the baby\u2019s body that far into the mother\u2019s abdomen.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Though no abortionist is on record as having committed either abortion, Carhart is the one who called the hospital to tell them about the patient on May 21, according to the whistleblower. With no abortionist listed on the medical paperwork, future women may never know if the person committing their abortion is the one who injured these women so badly.<\/p>\n<p>These injuries to the women were so grisly\u2014as well as the dismembered bodies of preborn children still inside of them\u2014that the surgeon from the May 12 incident sent out an email in acknowledgment of the trauma that the attending hospital staff members may have experienced.<\/p>\n<p>While the abortion industry claims late-term abortions only happen in an effort to save the mother&#8217;s life or in the event that the child receives a heartbreaking diagnosis, this is untrue.
