Often, when pro-lifers attempt to show the truth about the humanity of the preborn, abortion supporters claim the images are doctored<\/a> or faked<\/a>, or that videos have been “heavily edited<\/a>.” Yet, abortion providers have been openly discussing the humanity of the preborn child for decades\u2014even while they brutally take their lives.<\/p>\n

In “Dehumanizing the Vulnerable: When Word Games Take Lives,” author William Brennan quotes several abortion providers describing their work in no uncertain terms.<\/p>\n

One of those cited was now-deceased abortionist Dr. William B. Waddill, who was on trial in 1977 for the strangulation death of a baby girl who survived a saline abortion. Emphasizing that the saline is intended to kill babies before birth, Dr. Waddill described the horrific process:<\/p>\n

“Hypertonic saline causes tremendous basal dilatation of the blood vessels. In other words, the vessels just dilate and just stay dilated and with the extreme dehydration that occurs throughout the baby through the lungs, the gastrointestinal tract, the kidneys, through the vasculature, the cardiovascular system inside the baby, and the blood vessels of the baby, the brain is, I’m sure… destroyed from lack of blood supply. It is such a caustic and tremendously bad and hostile environment for the baby that it just creates an enormous destructive process.” <\/em><\/p>\n

In the quote above, Waddill described lungs, blood vessels, kidneys, a cardiovascular system, and a brain — all of which belong to an obviously human child in the womb. While abortion advocates may continue to claim that children in the womb are mere blobs of tissue, abortionists know better.<\/p>\n

Another example came from the infamous late-term abortion provider Dr. Warren Hern, who published findings in the January 1984 issue of Obstetrics and Gynecology from research he conducted on 1,800 babies killed by Dilation & Evacuation (D&E) dismemberment abortion. Hern described how he took precise measurements of preborn children’s dismembered body parts, writing, “sight measurement was taken from the tip of the longest toe to the tip of the heel” and later, “the ruler sighted from the bottom of the heel to the top of the flexed knee.” Measuring the crushed heads of the babies precisely proved difficult, so Hern opted to fill the “inverted, collapsed fetal calvarium(s)” with water so that he could “approximate the natural shape” of the skull. (Hern 1984b, 26-32)<\/p>\n

Again, Hern is describing toes, heels, knees, and skulls. Clearly, these are human beings who are aborted. And yet, Hern continues his grisly trade even today. Hern commits late-term abortions in Colorado, and once said<\/a> in an interview, “I don\u2019t have a problem with believing the fetus is a fertilized egg. Sure it becomes more physically developed but it lacks emotional development. It doesn\u2019t have the mental capacity for self-awareness. It\u2019s never been an ethical dilemma for me.”<\/p>\n

So despite the fact that Hern measures knees and skulls, he still considers these human beings “fertilized eggs.” This isn’t science. It’s self-delusion<\/em>.<\/p>\n

While the abortion industry thrives on euphemisms and word games, the reality of the humanity of the child in the womb is clearly no secret amongst abortion providers. Making progress in changing hearts and minds involves a reference back to this reality.<\/p>\n
