She needs to understand what the terms \u201cpro-life\u201d and \u201cpro-choice\u201d mean so she can explain them adequately.<\/p>\n<p>She inquires on Planned Parenthood\u2019s <a href=\"https:\/\/www.plannedparenthood.org\/learn\/teens\/ask-experts\/can-you-explain-what-pro-choice-means-and-pro-life-means-im-supposed-to-do-it-for-a-class-thanks\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">website<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>After telling her the terms are confusing on purpose, then describing the term pro-choice as believing everyone has the basic human right of when and whether to have children, Planned Parenthood\u2019s response continues with this remark:<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\"><em>\u201cPeople who oppose abortion often call themselves pro-life. However, the only life many of them are concerned with is the life of the fertilized egg, embryo, or fetus. They are much less concerned about the life of women who have unintended pregnancies or the welfare of children after they\u2019re born.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n<p>Following this misinformation, suggestions for better terminology are offered:<\/p>\n<p>\u2022 \u201cPro-reproductive rights\u201d \u2013 by Planned Parenthood\u2019s definition, this includes the so-called health care category of safe, legal abortion.<\/p>\n<p>\u2022 \u201cAnti-abortion\u201d \u2013 which they define as people who want abortion to be illegal in all circumstances, including pregnancy as a result of rape or which endangers a woman\u2019s life.<\/p>\n<p>They go on to state that anti-abortion people tend to disagree with most medical authorities about the definition of pregnancy, mistakenly believing that pregnancy begins with the fertilization of the egg.<\/p>\n<p>Planned Parenthood claims, \u201cMost authorities believe that pregnancy begins when the implantation of the fertilized egg into the lining of the uterus is complete.\u201d<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><iframe loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/jnAbwc_pHSY\" width=\"640\" height=\"355\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen=\"allowfullscreen\"><span data-mce-type=\"bookmark\" style=\"display: inline-block; width: 0px; overflow: hidden; line-height: 0;\" class=\"mce_SELRES_start\">\ufeff<\/span><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>READ:\u00a0<em><a href=\"https:\/\/archive.liveaction.org\/news\/live-action-video-knows-life-begins\/\">New Live Action video debunks claim, \u2018No One Knows When Life Begins\u2019<\/a><\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>There\u2019s more, but let\u2019s touch on a few salient points here.<b><\/b><\/p>\n<p>First, the ongoing allegation that people who call themselves pro-life shouldn\u2019t use that term because we only care about one life.<\/p>\n<p>Note that the word \u201cbaby\u201d is scrupulously avoided, replaced by the less personal terms of \u201cfertilized egg, embryo or fetus.\u201d That\u2019s because dehumanization must occur to rationalize the taking of a human life.<\/p>\n<p>In reality, pro-life people care very much about distressed pregnant women, as evidenced by the existence of maternity homes, adoption agencies and pregnancy help centers.<\/p>\n<p>Pro-life people are there to support and empower women as they courageously adapt to unexpected circumstances.<\/p>\n<p>Our message is, \u201cYou are not alone. You can do this,\u201d rather than \u201cYou aren\u2019t capable of this, so (for a price), we\u2019ll provide the way out.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>We walk alongside these girls and women, offering them free classes on parenting and related life skills.<\/p>\n<p>Far from being unconcerned about the welfare of their children, we get to know their little ones. We become these women\u2019s mentors and friends.<\/p>\n<p>Next, let\u2019s talk about reproductive rights.<\/p>\n<p>This term sounds reasonable until you acknowledge that, by definition, you cannot offer a human right to one people group by denying another group the fundamental right to life.<\/p>\n<p>Remember slavery? People thought it was reasonable for one group to have the right to own (and use and abuse to the point of death) people from another group.<\/p>\n<p>It\u2019s never okay to turn people into property, whether those people are of another race or are still in the womb.<\/p>\n<p>By calling abortion a \u201creproductive right,\u201d the presence of a real person is obfuscated by <a href=\"https:\/\/pregnancyhelpnews.com\/what-abortion-advocates-are-really-saying\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">clever semantics<\/a> as though he or she doesn\u2019t even exist.<\/p>\n<p>Again, dehumanization is a necessary step in rationalizing the ending of a human life. It\u2019s a way to deaden the conscience.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><iframe loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/CFZDhM5Gwhk\" width=\"640\" height=\"355\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen=\"allowfullscreen\"><span data-mce-type=\"bookmark\" style=\"display: inline-block; width: 0px; overflow: hidden; line-height: 0;\" class=\"mce_SELRES_start\">\ufeff<\/span><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Despite their twisted view of human rights, Planned Parenthood paints themselves in a positive light (we are \u201cpro-reproductive rights\u201d) while casting the other side in a negative light (they are just \u201canti-abortion\u201d).<\/p>\n<p>With that, they bring up two extreme situations commonly employed to support abortion rights:<\/p>\n<p>1. What about rape?<\/p>\n<p>2. What if the woman\u2019s life is endangered?<\/p>\n<p>Pregnancies resulting from rape represent <a href=\"http:\/\/www.operationrescue.org\/about-abortion\/abortions-in-america\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">less than 1% of unplanned pregnancies<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>In addition, women who have experienced the trauma of rape and then have an abortion have reported that the second trauma (abortion) felt worse than the first.<\/p>\n<p>Most importantly, why should an innocent child be killed for a crime committed by his or her father?<\/p>\n<p>As to <a href=\"https:\/\/pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov\/7129852\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">the mother\u2019s life being in peril<\/a>, \u201c\u2026the best medical evidence reveals that of the few women who die of disease while pregnant it appears there\u2019s not even one cause of death abortion can prevent.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Let\u2019s be honest. Abortion is a killer, not a medical solution.<\/p>\n<p>Moving on to the \u201cmistaken\u201d belief that pregnancy begins at conception, Planned Parenthood claims that \u201cmost authorities\u201d believe implantation is the beginning point of pregnancy.<\/p>\n<p>In actuality, \u201c\u2026the conclusion that <a href=\"https:\/\/lozierinstitute.org\/a-scientific-view-of-when-life-begins\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">human life begins at sperm-egg fusion<\/a> is uncontested, objective, based on the universally accepted scientific method of distinguishing different cell types from each other and on ample scientific evidence (thousands of independent, peer-reviewed publications).\u201d<\/p>\n<p><strong>READ:\u00a0<em><a href=\"https:\/\/archive.liveaction.org\/news\/planned-parenthood-ignores-science-says-women-should-choose-when-life-begins\/\">Planned Parenthood ignores science, says women should choose when life begins<\/a><\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Clearly, Planned Parenthood wants their audience, especially their potential client base, to focus on pregnancy as a condition to be \u201ccured,\u201d not as an intimate relationship between mother and child.<\/p>\n<p>So, when a teen girl asks them for clarity of terms. Planned Parenthood responds with deceptive euphemisms aimed at indoctrinating her (and every teen who visits their website) into their worldview.<\/p>\n<p>They leverage the opportunity to present a stereotypical, misleading caricature of pro-life people.<\/p>\n<p>They groom their website visitors, many of them, no doubt, young, vulnerable women, into seeking abortion when they face an unplanned pregnancy\u2014knowing full well that\u2019s likely what will happen when these young women follow their advice on sex.<\/p>\n<p>What\u2019s behind all this disingenuous rhetoric?<\/p>\n<p>Financial profit.<\/p>\n<p>Abortion is not a legitimate human right; it is dehumanizing. It is not lifesaving, it is life-taking.
