Now, thanks to something that <a href=\"https:\/\/www.thesun.co.uk\/news\/11690506\/police-probe-death-of-unborn-baby-after-woman-has-illegal-abortion-by-post-at-28-weeks-four-weeks-past-limit\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">just occurred in England<\/a>, we have gotten a glimpse of what can happen when a woman takes the abortion pill well past the first trimester of pregnancy.<\/p>\n<p>Police in the United Kingdom are investigating the death of a 28-week-old preborn baby whose mother was legally sent the abortion pill through the mail. The baby was stillborn after the woman took the abortion pill, which she was able to get without an examination, ultrasound, or test of any kind. Over 90% of babies born at 28 weeks survive. The <a href=\"https:\/\/www.thesun.co.uk\/news\/11690506\/police-probe-death-of-unborn-baby-after-woman-has-illegal-abortion-by-post-at-28-weeks-four-weeks-past-limit\/\">UK Sun<\/a> notes that the pills &#8220;were mailed under a new &#8216;home abortion&#8217; scheme set up after laws were relaxed because of the pandemic.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p><strong>READ:\u00a0<em><a href=\"https:\/\/archive.liveaction.org\/news\/abortion-pill-reversal-hotline-record-calls-covid\/\">Abortion pill reversal hotline receives record number of calls during COVID-19<\/a><\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>England has allowed the Pregnancy Advisory Service, a chain of abortion facilities, to mail women the abortion pill without testing or screening. The woman seeking the abortion pill is supposed to first speak to a \u201ctrained nurse or midwife\u201d for a 40-minute-consultation by phone or online. The abortion pill is supposed to be sent only to women who are 10 weeks or earlier in their pregnancies.<\/p>\n<p>According to the UK Sun:<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\"><em>Last night a whistleblower said: \u201cThe \u2018pills by post\u2019 system has been brought in but a 40-minute phone call can never be the same as a proper medical consultation.<\/em><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\"><em>\u201cThere needs to be a proper investigation to find out just what went wrong.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><iframe loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/lRDnVSMr5j0\" width=\"640\" height=\"355\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen=\"allowfullscreen\"><span data-mce-type=\"bookmark\" style=\"display: inline-block; width: 0px; overflow: hidden; line-height: 0;\" class=\"mce_SELRES_start\">\ufeff<\/span><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>The problem is, without an exam or ultrasound, <em>there is no way to determine how far along the woman really is<\/em>. Whether the woman in this case wasn\u2019t sure of the length of her pregnancy or was dishonest about how far along she was, she was able to obtain the pills even though she was in her seventh month of pregnancy. The legal limit for abortion in Great Britain is 24 weeks unless the baby has a disability or a fatal anomaly.<\/p>\n<p>The British Pregnancy Advisory Service has defended its program of distributing abortion pills through the mail. According to the article, 8000 women have aborted this way since March 31. We don\u2019t know how far along the other women were, or whether this incident was an isolated one.<\/p>\n<p>If a woman aborts after 10 weeks and manages to hide the aborted baby, it is possible that no incident would be reported.<\/p>\n<p><em>Editor&#8217;s Note: It may be possible to reverse a chemical abortion after it has begun.
