It has also been silent on abortion industry <a href=\"https:\/\/archive.liveaction.org\/news\/alarming-abortion-pill-ultrasounds-guess\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">protocols<\/a>\u00a0which <a href=\"https:\/\/archive.liveaction.org\/news\/no-test-abortion-pill-protocol-access-safety\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">defy<\/a>\u00a0its own Risk Evaluation Mitigation Strategy (<a href=\"https:\/\/www.accessdata.fda.gov\/scripts\/cder\/rems\/index.cfm\">REMS<\/a>) abortion pill safety requirements. Yet the Campaign for Accountability (CFA), turning a blind eye to this clearly problematic activity, recently sent a <a href=\"https:\/\/campaignforaccountability.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/05\/FDA-Letter_Abortion-Reversal_5_20_2020.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">letter<\/a> asking the FDA to <a href=\"https:\/\/archive.liveaction.org\/news\/pro-abortion-group-wants-fda-seize-website-domains-promoting-abortion-pill-reversal\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">pull websites<\/a> of pro-life organizations that advertise the abortion pill <em>reversal<\/em> (APR) protocol, which involves the use of the hormone progesterone (often used to prevent miscarriages) to counter the effects of the abortion pill, mifepristone.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><iframe loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/FSK9ptRccYM\" width=\"640\" height=\"355\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen=\"allowfullscreen\"><span data-mce-type=\"bookmark\" style=\"display: inline-block; width: 0px; overflow: hidden; line-height: 0;\" class=\"mce_SELRES_start\">\ufeff<\/span><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>CFA has a clear pro-abortion bias, even stating on its website that its <a href=\"https:\/\/campaignforaccountability.org\/priorities\/reproductive-rights-themis-project\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">purpose<\/a> is to \u201cuse[] research, litigation, and aggressive communications to hold the anti-choice movement accountable.\u201d CFA openly\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/campaignforaccountability.org\/priorities\/reproductive-rights-themis-project\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">admits<\/a>\u00a0to targeting pro-life organizations to stop them from &#8220;gaining traction&#8221; in ending abortion.\u00a0CFA\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/campaignforaccountability.org\/priorities\/reproductive-rights-themis-project\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">writes<\/a>:<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\"><em>[&#8230;T]he anti-choice movement is gaining traction&#8230; We\u2019re not sitting on the sidelines&#8230; We\u2019re fighting\u00a0back. Campaign for Accountability\u2019s\u00a0<strong>Themis Project<\/strong>\u00a0is working to hold the anti-choice movement accountable and fighting to protect\u00a0reproductive rights at\u00a0the state and national\u00a0level.<\/em><\/p>\n<p>In Greek mythology, Themis is a goddess of justice and order. But surely there is no justice for innocent human beings with no voice whose right to life is taken from them without due process.<\/p>\n<div id=\"attachment_224162\" style=\"width: 800px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><img aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-224162\" decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"wp-image-224162 \" src=\"https:\/\/archive.liveaction.org\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/05\/Campaign-for-Accountability-is-pro-abortion.jpg\" alt=\"Image: Campaign for Accountability is pro-abortion (CFC website accessed 5\/23\/2020) \" width=\"790\" height=\"483\" srcset=\"https:\/\/archive.liveaction.org\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/05\/Campaign-for-Accountability-is-pro-abortion.jpg 1248w, https:\/\/archive.liveaction.org\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/05\/Campaign-for-Accountability-is-pro-abortion-300x183.jpg 300w, https:\/\/archive.liveaction.org\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/05\/Campaign-for-Accountability-is-pro-abortion-768x470.jpg 768w, https:\/\/archive.liveaction.org\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/05\/Campaign-for-Accountability-is-pro-abortion-700x428.jpg 700w, https:\/\/archive.liveaction.org\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/05\/Campaign-for-Accountability-is-pro-abortion-500x306.jpg 500w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 790px) 100vw, 790px\" \/><p id=\"caption-attachment-224162\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Campaign for Accountability is pro-abortion (CFC website accessed 5\/23\/2020)<\/p><\/div>\n<p>The CFA\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/campaignforaccountability.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/05\/FDA-Letter_Abortion-Reversal_5_20_2020.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">letter\u2014<\/a>possibly written in retaliation for letters to the FDA sent by Congressional leaders and <a href=\"https:\/\/archive.liveaction.org\/news\/pro-life-fda-illegal-abortion-pill-safeguards\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">pro-life organizations<\/a> calling for the removal of websites <a href=\"https:\/\/archive.liveaction.org\/news\/funded-bill-gates-abortion-pill-worldwide\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">illegally<\/a> selling and shipping abortion pills into the U.S.\u2014asks the FDA to &#8220;seize the website domains for&#8230; Abortion Pill Rescue, American Pregnancy Association, Obria Medical Clinics, and any other entities improperly marketing progesterone treatments to women who have taken mifepristone&#8230;.&#8221;\u00a0CFA&#8217;s letter\u00a0was signed by Alice Huling, the organization\u2019s Counsel, <a href=\"https:\/\/campaignforaccountability.org\/about\/\">whose<\/a>\u00a0&#8220;<em>pro bono\u00a0<\/em>work included several reproductive rights cases for which she worked with Planned Parenthood and the Center for Reproductive Rights to challenge anti-choice legislation and policies.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>CFA&#8217;s reasons for asking the FDA to seize abortion pill reversal websites appear even more ludicrous when you apply the same scrutiny to the abortion pill itself.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Untested and unproven use?<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>CFA&#8217;s <a href=\"https:\/\/campaignforaccountability.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/05\/FDA-Letter_Abortion-Reversal_5_20_2020.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">letter<\/a>\u00a0feigns concern that &#8220;[t]he FDA has not approved this untested and unproven so-called abortion pill reversal treatment.&#8221; Yet CFA fails to criticize the abortion industry&#8217;s <em>unapproved, off-label dispensing<\/em> of abortion pills. It was the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.sciencedaily.com\/releases\/2008\/06\/080616115657.htm\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">off-label<\/a> use of the abortion pill by Planned Parenthood and others which led to the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.latimes.com\/archives\/la-xpm-2005-aug-15-me-abortion15-story.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">death<\/a>\u00a0women including\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.sfgate.com\/entertainment\/article\/Monty-Patterson-learns-about-RU-486-the-hard-way-2345757.php\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Holly Patterson<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Patterson&#8217;s father Monty\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.sfgate.com\/entertainment\/article\/Monty-Patterson-learns-about-RU-486-the-hard-way-2345757.php\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">told<\/a> reporters:<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\"><em>I learned of 10 reported deaths from sepsis (serious infection involving the blood) following medical abortions, and nine of these were from Clostridium sordelli and all involved these alternative, off-label treatments&#8230; That day in the hospital, there were officials from Planned Parenthood who showed up and said that nothing like this had happened before. I just didn&#8217;t believe it.<\/em><\/p>\n<div id=\"attachment_185537\" style=\"width: 604px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><img aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-185537\" decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"wp-image-185537 \" src=\"https:\/\/archive.liveaction.org\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/07\/Monte-Patterson-holds-up-pic-of-daughter-dead-after-taking-RU486-at-Planned-Parenthood.jpg\" alt=\"Image: Monte Patterson holds up pic of daughter dead after taking abortion pill at Planned Parenthood\" width=\"594\" height=\"395\" srcset=\"https:\/\/archive.liveaction.org\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/07\/Monte-Patterson-holds-up-pic-of-daughter-dead-after-taking-RU486-at-Planned-Parenthood.jpg 743w, https:\/\/archive.liveaction.org\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/07\/Monte-Patterson-holds-up-pic-of-daughter-dead-after-taking-RU486-at-Planned-Parenthood-300x199.jpg 300w, https:\/\/archive.liveaction.org\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/07\/Monte-Patterson-holds-up-pic-of-daughter-dead-after-taking-RU486-at-Planned-Parenthood-700x465.jpg 700w, https:\/\/archive.liveaction.org\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/07\/Monte-Patterson-holds-up-pic-of-daughter-dead-after-taking-RU486-at-Planned-Parenthood-500x332.jpg 500w, https:\/\/archive.liveaction.org\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/07\/Monte-Patterson-holds-up-pic-of-daughter-dead-after-taking-RU486-at-Planned-Parenthood-360x240.jpg 360w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 594px) 100vw, 594px\" \/><p id=\"caption-attachment-185537\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Monte Patterson holds up pic of daughter dead after taking abortion pill at Planned Parenthood(Image: CSPAN)<\/p><\/div>\n<p><strong>Approved treatment?<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>CFA&#8217;s <a href=\"https:\/\/campaignforaccountability.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/05\/FDA-Letter_Abortion-Reversal_5_20_2020.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">letter<\/a>\u00a0repeatedly says that mifepristone (the abortion pill) is an &#8220;approved treatment,&#8221; yet CFA is silent when abortion insiders with clear profit motives defy the FDA&#8217;s safety requirements for dispensing the drug.\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/pregnancyhelpnews.com\/stunning-photo-of-baby-who-survived-abortion-captivates-internet\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Abortion Pill Rescue<\/a>&#8216;s Medical Advisor, Dr. Brent Boles, who has <a href=\"https:\/\/pregnancyhelpnews.com\/stunning-photo-of-baby-who-survived-abortion-captivates-internet\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">successfully<\/a> implemented the APR regimen several times, told Live Action News that CFA&#8217;s <a href=\"https:\/\/campaignforaccountability.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/05\/FDA-Letter_Abortion-Reversal_5_20_2020.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">letter<\/a>\u00a0demonstrates &#8220;an amazing level of hypocrisy.&#8221; Boles says it is the <em>abortion industry<\/em> which is &#8220;in complete violation of the FDA restrictions on medication abortion.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>These include:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Distributing the abortion\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/archive.liveaction.org\/news\/abortion-pill-trial-expands-thwart-fda-safety\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">pill by mail<\/a>\u00a0under the guise of a clinical study<\/li>\n<li>Pushing for the abortion pill to be dispensed in pharmacies<\/li>\n<li>Promoting the use of misoprostol only (a labor-inducing drug) as an abortion pill<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/archive.liveaction.org\/news\/alarming-abortion-pill-ultrasounds-guess\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Dispensing<\/a>\u00a0the abortion pill past FDA&#8217;s REMS 70-day limit<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/archive.liveaction.org\/news\/alarming-abortion-pill-ultrasounds-guess\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Dispensing<\/a>\u00a0the abortion pill\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/archive.liveaction.org\/news\/no-test-contact-abortion-covid-works-time\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">without<\/a>\u00a0testing, <a href=\"https:\/\/archive.liveaction.org\/news\/no-test-abortion-pill-protocol-access-safety\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">defying<\/a>\u00a0FDA REMS<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/archive.liveaction.org\/news\/no-test-abortion-pill-protocol-access-safety\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Using<\/a>\u00a0the abortion pill in the <a href=\"https:\/\/archive.liveaction.org\/news\/abortion-pill-study-second-trimester-minority\/\">second trimester<\/a> of pregnancy<\/li>\n<li>Sneaking abortion pills into countries under the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/archive.liveaction.org\/news\/groups-sneak-abortion-pill-pharmacies-other-conditions\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">guise<\/a> of treating other conditions<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&#8220;There are over 20,000 medications approved for use in America by the FDA,&#8221; Dr. Boles told Live Action News. &#8220;A very small number of them have restrictions on their prescribing. All the others are okay for off-label use.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;But there are 57 drugs that are limited by REMS,&#8221; he added. &#8220;&#8230; Only 57 out of more than 20,000 are sufficiently dangerous to require that. Mifeprex [the abortion pill] is one of those drugs, and abortion activists criticize the off-label use of progesterone while also wanting to ignore the restrictions on one of the 57 most dangerous drugs available.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><iframe loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/GKPgrwubFUs\" width=\"640\" height=\"355\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen=\"allowfullscreen\"><span data-mce-type=\"bookmark\" style=\"display: inline-block; width: 0px; overflow: hidden; line-height: 0;\" class=\"mce_SELRES_start\">\ufeff<\/span><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p><strong>Deeply Flawed?<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>CFA&#8217;s letter claims evidence for abortion pill reversal&#8217;s effectiveness is &#8220;deeply flawed.&#8221; This false claim ignores\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/archive.liveaction.org\/news\/four-lies-abortion-pill-reversal-truth\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">studies<\/a>\u00a0showing abortion pill reversal is scientific and has resulted in <a href=\"https:\/\/archive.liveaction.org\/news\/pro-life-abortion-pill-reversal-discredit\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">hundreds<\/a> of\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/pregnancyhelpnews.com\/750-babies-have-been-saved-by-abortion-pill-reversal-ohio-is-making-sure-women-know-that\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">successfu<\/a>l reversals.<\/p>\n<p>As evidence, CFA references a 2019\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/archive.liveaction.org\/news\/media-ignores-profit-abortion-pill-reversal-researcher\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">study<\/a>\u00a0authored by abortion industry insider Mitchell Creinin and others, entitled \u201cMifepristone Antagonization With Progesterone to Prevent Medical Abortion.\u201d But in reality it is Creinin&#8217;s &#8220;<a href=\"https:\/\/journals.lww.com\/greenjournal\/Citation\/2020\/01000\/Mifepristone_Antagonization_With_Progesterone_to.21\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">study<\/a>,&#8221;\u00a0terminated sometime between August and\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/web.archive.org\/web\/20190928183657\/http:\/\/clinicaltrials.gov\/ct2\/show\/NCT03774745\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">September 2019,<\/a>\u00a0that is deeply flawed<em>.\u00a0<\/em>The\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/journals.lww.com\/greenjournal\/Abstract\/publishahead\/Mifepristone_Antagonization_With_Progesterone_to.97525.aspx\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">study<\/a>\u00a0was terminated after enrolling just <strong>12 pregnant women<\/strong> after attempting to recruit 40.\u00a0Creinin and his Planned Parenthood collaborator, Laura Dalton, then intended to\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/clinicaltrials.gov\/ct2\/show\/NCT03774745?term=creinin\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">give<\/a>\u00a0some participants progesterone or a placebo. <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/CaroleNovielli\/status\/1118941053502066689\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Mitchell D.\u00a0<span class=\"hit_inf\">Creinin<\/span>, MD<\/a>\u00a0was a consultant for Danco Laboratories, the abortion pill manufacturer.\u00a0The study was sponsored by the University of California-Davis and the Society of Family Planning, both of which have strong ties to abortion. It was then published by\u00a0the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/journals.lww.com\/greenjournal\/Abstract\/2019\/01000\/Efficacy_of_Misoprostol_Alone_for_First_Trimester.19.aspx\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Journal of Obstetrics and Gynecology<\/a>, commonly referred to as \u201cThe Green Journal,\u201d the official publication of the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/archive.liveaction.org\/news\/american-college-obstetricians-gynecologists-pro-abortion\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">pro-abortion<\/a>\u00a0American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists (ACOG).\u00a0The study was the result of a failed clinical trial\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/clinicaltrials.gov\/ct2\/show\/NCT03774745?term=creinin&amp;rank=3\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">published<\/a>\u00a0under the name, &#8220;Blocking Mifepristone Action With Progesterone.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Three of the women in the study suffered instances of \u201csevere hemorrhage requiring ambulance transport to hospital.\u201d Two of those women had received the placebo and one had received progesterone to counter the abortion pill. Severe hemorrhage is not a side effect of progesterone. He has a\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/archive.liveaction.org\/news\/media-ignores-profit-abortion-pill-reversal-researcher\/\">long history with abortion<\/a>. He has <a href=\"https:\/\/escholarship.org\/content\/qt0fg6r1bp\/qt0fg6r1bp.pdf\">received<\/a>\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/web.archive.org\/web\/20110103193458\/https:\/\/www.arhp.org\/uploadDocs\/ARHP_RH10_Program_FINAL.pdf\">consulting fees<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov\/pmc\/articles\/PMC3711556\/pdf\/nihms436531.pdf\">compensation<\/a> as a\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/cloudfront.escholarship.org\/dist\/prd\/content\/qt0v4749ss\/qt0v4749ss.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">consultant<\/a>\u00a0for\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov\/pmc\/articles\/PMC3711556\/pdf\/nihms436531.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">abortion pill<\/a>\u00a0manufacturer Danco. The abortion pill is currently only approved by the FDA up to 10 weeks (70 days of pregnancy).\u00a0Multiple <a href=\"https:\/\/meadows.house.gov\/uploadedfiles\/meadows_estes_smith_letter_chemical_abortions_burkina_faso.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">lawmakers<\/a> have\u00a0raised <a href=\"https:\/\/archive.liveaction.org\/news\/lawmakers-fda-unethical-abortion-pill-african-experiments\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">concerns<\/a>\u00a0over this trial.<\/p>\n<p>CFA&#8217;s phony attempt to shut down <em>real choices<\/em> for women is an outrage.
