Infamous abortion chain owner James Scott Pendergraft appears to be liquidating the majority of his former abortion facility buildings in Florida where he operated for many years. The news has been welcomed as a victory for pro-life advocates in the state who were a regular presence outside many of the locations.<\/p>\n

While Pendergraft’s long history of lawsuits and botched abortions<\/a>\u00a0never caused his abortion empire to crumble, he was eventually arrested on multiple drug charges<\/a>. As Live Action News previously\u00a0reported<\/a>, at the time of his arrest,\u00a0Pendergraft<\/a>\u00a0was also found to have in his possession surgical implements that were covered in blood and human tissue from abortions he had illegally performed throughout South Carolina. According to Ocala.com<\/a>, Pendergraft “was arrested and charged<\/a>\u00a0with six counts of possession of a controlled substance; one count each of possession of marijuana, narcotics and prescription medicine; and one count of manufacturing or possessing a controlled substance.”<\/p>\n

In 1999, Pendergraft told<\/a> the Orlando Sentinel,\u00a0“… We don’t call fetuses in utero pre-born babies. They are fetuses. Nor do I look at a fetus as a human being. It is alive, but it is not a human being, and it does not have rights. But the mother is a human being, and she does have rights.”<\/p>\n
