Multiple celebrities are joining together in an effort to raise money for abortion facilities. Led by comedian Lizz Winstead, stars like Elizabeth Banks, Margaret Cho, Jenny Slate, and Sandra Bernhard have all signed up to participate in Operation Save Abortion.<\/p>\n

Winstead, best known as the co-creator of “The Daily Show,” is the founder of the Abortion Access Front (formerly Lady Parts Justice League), an organization that uses humor to “destigmatize” abortion. And according to Winstead’s interview with The Hollywood Reporter<\/a>, the sole purpose of the fundraiser is to keep abortion facilities open.<\/p>\n

“This country has already profoundly stripped away access to abortion care. To think that they would use a pandemic as an excuse to cut off health care to people in a time where so many people are food, housing and job insecure because they see an opening to achieve their political goals is unconscionable,”\u00a0Winstead said. However, abortion is not health care as it is never medically necessary<\/a>.\u00a0According to Winstead, this fundraiser is needed in order to “save lives,” an odd choice of words when each and every abortion committed takes an innocent life.<\/p>\n

At a time when people’s lives are at risk, and even more people are struggling to pay their bills or feed their families, these celebrities are choosing to turn their backs on these dire needs, and instead are raising money for a cause that’s entire purpose is to cause death. It’s even more mind-boggling, considering that about half of all Americans consider themselves pro-life — as do a majority of women<\/a>, according to Gallup. Polls from Marist<\/a> and Quinnipiac<\/a> have found that most Americans oppose taxpayer-funded abortion and support heavy restrictions<\/a>. This goes for young people as well; only 7 percent of millennials<\/a> support taxpayer-funded abortion on demand with no restrictions.<\/p>\n

What this essentially boils down to is yet another instance where pro-abortion celebrities are tone-deaf and out-of-touch with the rest of the world. And using a pandemic to raise money for abortion, of all things, just proves this even more.<\/p>\n

The fundraiser will take place on Instagram, and is also being organized by “Shout Your Abortion<\/a>”\u00a0founder<\/a>\u00a0Amelia Bonow. Winstead herself is known to be a pro-abortion extremist who previously referred to preborn babies as “medical waste<\/a>,” headlined an “abortion comedy<\/a>” tour, and created an app to track pro-lifers<\/a>. The celebrities participating serve as a whos-who of abortion supporters. Elizabeth Banks, for example, participated in the pro-abortion rally before the Supreme Court where actress Busy Philipps screamed about her abortion<\/a>, and she also\u00a0headed a pro-abortion council<\/a>. Jenny Slate starred in the so-called abortion comedy<\/a> “Obvious Child,” which failed to make a box-office splash.<\/p>\n
