An asylum-seeker from Italy who is remaining anonymous to protect her identity came to the United States to escape domestic violence. She had an abortion scheduled at Planned Parenthood in Texas, believing that abortion was her only option. Then the COVID-19 pandemic struck and elective procedures were halted<\/a> in the state. With her abortion canceled, she was unsure what to do, and that’s when she found Loveline.<\/p>\n

Loveline<\/a> is a national pro-life ministry that launched in October 2019, and was\u00a0founded by former Planned Parenthood director Abby Johnson. Loveline provides items including diapers, wipes, formula, clothing, and more to women facing unplanned pregnancies. Since its founding last year, it has already provided $150,000 in financial and material help to expectant mothers, according to Fox News<\/a>.<\/p>\n

This asylum-seeker is one of 125 clients that Loveline has helped, and there has been a spike in clients since the pandemic began. When she contacted Loveline, she was able to speak with Pam Whitehead, who directs the organization. Whitehead helped her apply for Medicaid and connect with an immigration attorney who will be providing legal assistance free of charge. She will no longer be having an abortion, thanks to Loveline’s services. The same is true for other women who have been helped by the group.<\/p>\n

“We’ve [had] 5 babies born in the past two weeks to women who were abortion-vulnerable,” Whitehead told Fox News<\/a>. “We’ve been supporting them through their pregnancies and will continue to.” She added,\u00a0“Three moms from Texas, one from North Dakota and one from Montana – all delivered since COVID19 started. They all have everything they need to bring their babies home because we did an online registry for them already.”<\/p>\n

While abortion businesses are cutting their health care services and choosing to offer\u00a0abortion only<\/a>\u00a0during the pandemic, pro-life groups like Loveline are providing actual help and services to women who want to choose life, but feel they are ill-equipped to do so. When given the opportunity to choose life, they welcome it.<\/p>\n
