Consider\u2026.\u00a0The 27-year-old respirator therapist from Vancouver, Washington, who was 33 weeks pregnant, had among other symptoms a fever, and was tested for COVID-19 on March 24, Scott Stump of NBC\/Today reported.<\/p>\n<p>Eight days later she&#8230;<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\"><em>was fighting for her life on a ventilator while in a medically induced coma.<\/em><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\"><em>At the same time, she gave birth to her daughter after doctors at Legacy Salmon Creek Medical Center induced labor to give Primachenko more of a fighting chance while also protecting her child. \u2026<\/em><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\"><em>Primachenko was taken off the ventilator on April 6, and one look down at her body told her that her baby must have been born.<\/em><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\"><em>\u201cObviously nobody expected that I was going to get that sick, so no, absolutely not, I did not expect to deliver my child,\u201d she said. \u201cAfter all the medication and everything I just woke up and all of a sudden I didn\u2019t have my belly any more. It was just extremely mind-blowing.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><iframe loading=\"lazy\" style=\"border: 1px solid #e6e6e6;\" src=\"https:\/\/media.kgw.com\/embeds\/video\/283-0fb357c7-d5b4-4ef6-b6cd-53ca21157441\/iframe\" width=\"640\" height=\"360\" allowfullscreen=\"allowfullscreen\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Stump explained that Primachenko, who was released from the hospital Saturday, has not been able to hold daughter Ava who is in neonatal intensive care. Fortunately, neither her husband David nor their 11-month-old daughter, Emily, have tested positive for COVID-19, so they are able to hold the newest member of the family. Primachenko has had to content herself with FaceTime.<\/p>\n<p>Another blessing: Ava has tested negative for COVID-19.<\/p>\n<p><em>NBC\/Today<\/em> detailed the loving contributions of Primachenko\u2019s supportive family and friends.<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\"><em>Her twin sister, Oksana Luiten, had been keeping family and friends updated through Primachenko\u2019s frightening ordeal, asking for prayers on Instagram for a \u201cmiraculous healing.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\"><em>Primachenko also had a moment she\u2019ll never forget when she was wheeled out of the intensive care unit in her bed.<\/em><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\"><em>\u201cEveryone did a standing ovation and just clapped me out of the ICU, which is so amazing and such a huge thing to be able to leave the ICU and go to the floor \u2014 it\u2019s just the grace of God,\u201d she said.<\/em><\/p>\n<p>Washington state has been hit hard by COVID-19. Primachenko said she \u201cis hoping her story can send a positive message during a difficult time.\u201d<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\"><em>\u201cThat there\u2019s hope,\u201d she said. \u201cThat even in the hardest days and the hardest times that there\u2019s hope and you can rely on God and people and community. The amount of community and people that were praying for me is just unbelievable.
