The Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation, a known financier<\/a> of pro-abortion organizations, is also funding an international “family planning” organization which distributes the abortion pill worldwide. DKT International operates “offices in 24 countries” and boasts that it is “one of the world\u2019s largest providers of family planning.” But while DKT\u00a0portrays<\/a> itself as “a non-profit, non-governmental organization (NGO)” which “operates like a social enterprise,” DKT International also openly sells the abortion pill (mifepristone) as well as manual vacuum aspiration (MVA) kits. In addition, DKT may also be the marketing company behind pills that are being illegally shipped from India to the U.S.<\/p>\n

Live Action News has previously documented the illegal online sales of the abortion pill by physician Rebecca Gomperts, founder of the group Aid Access. In\u00a0March of 2019, the U.S. Food and Drug Administration\u00a0sent a\u00a0warning letter<\/a> to AidAccess.org<\/a> to cease shipments of the pills to the U.S. A lawsuit<\/a>\u00a0filed in the case suggests the Aid Access abortion combipack\u00a0is manufactured by a pharmaceuticals company marketed by DKT. The\u00a0FDA letter<\/a>, referred to in the lawsuit as “exhibit B<\/a>,” states:<\/p>\n

Aidaccess.org facilitates the sale to U.S. consumers of unapproved mifepristone… including “a-Kare,” a combination pack… manufactured by Synokem Pharaceuticals Ltd. (Snynokem). The patient insert accompanying the product states that “a-Kare” is “indicated for early medical abortion for up to 9 weeks,” The product labeling states “a-Kare<\/a>” is “Marketed by: DKT India<\/strong>.”<\/em><\/p>\n

According to DKT’s website<\/a>, “DKT India<\/a> now supplies a wide range of contraceptives under its\u00a0Kare\u00a0brand<\/a>, including… emergency contraceptives, and safe abortion products. DKT India has received support from the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, the Ministry of Health & Family Welfare, National AIDS Control Organization, UNFPA, USAID, and Finland\u2019s\u00a0V\u00e4est\u00f6liitto<\/a>.”<\/p>\n

Under “safe abortion,”\u00a0DKT’s website<\/a>\u00a0states:<\/p>\n

  • “Whenever possible, DKT registers mifepristone\/misoprostol and misoprostol for abortion and post-abortion care.”<\/li>\n
  • “In 2017,\u00a0DKT acquired the worldwide rights<\/a>\u00a0to distribute the Ipas manual vacuum aspiration (MVA) technology” [a manual aspiration abortion method].<\/li>\n
  • “DKT markets and distributes MVA in over 100 countries around the world.”<\/li>\n
  • “<\/strong>DKT has trained thousands of health care providers from the private and public sector on abortion and post-abortion care best practices, including surgical protocols, prescription of the abortion pill and\u00a0post-abortion family planning counseling.”<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

    “DKT\u2019s sales totals for 2014 included…\u00a02.4\u00a0million IUDs, emergency contraception, implants, mifepristone\/misoprostol, and manual vacuum aspiration kits<\/strong>,” according to the website<\/a>\u00a0of the\u00a0United Nation’s Family Planning 2020 initiative (FP2020<\/a>). Capital Research noted<\/a> how FP2020 is not only saturated with Gates Foundation funds, but “aims to loosen abortion restrictions overseas….” In 2018, DKT’s annual report boasted<\/a> 3.5 million\u00a0mifepristone\/misoprostol combipacks, and 4.2 million<\/a> by 2019.<\/p>\n

    Gates funding<\/strong><\/p>\n

    Gates Foundation dollars to Planned Parenthood<\/a>\u00a0— which commits 40 percent<\/a> of all U.S. abortions — have totaled “at least\u00a0$81,009,329,”<\/a>\u00a0according to Newsbusters<\/a>. In addition, between 2018 and 2020, Newsbusters reports that the Gates Foundation “gave at least $11,381,171” to the\u00a0Population Council<\/a>.\u00a0Live Action News previously\u00a0documented<\/a> how the Population Council,\u00a0a non-profit\u00a0founded<\/a>\u00a0by John D. Rockefeller III in 1952 (along with others already\u00a0entrenched<\/a>\u00a0in the eugenics movement), was responsible for brining the abortion pill (RU-486) into the U.S.\u00a0The right to distribute the drugs was\u00a0later<\/a>\u00a0handed over to DANCO Laboratories, a\u00a0sub-licensee<\/a>\u00a0of the Population Council which was heavily financed<\/a> by the Packard Foundation<\/a>.<\/p>\n
