It’s not often that stories of abortion regret are featured by the entertainment industry, which tends to be unapologetically pro-abortion. Yet on one new show, a woman discussed her heartbreaking abortion experience, and explained why she’ll never do it again.<\/p>\n

The Netflix dating show “Love Is Blind” was a surprising hit. The premise involved 30 singles who initially had to “meet” a partner in a speed dating process — but they had to do so without ever seeing each other face-to-face. After 10 days, the men proposed to the women they had fallen in love with, at which point they finally saw each other for the first time.<\/p>\n

On the second episode, one of the contestants, Amber Pike, opened up about her past experience with abortion after she had an unplanned pregnancy. She shared that when she told her former boyfriend she was pregnant, he asked her how she was going to “fix it.” She said the abortion was “the hardest thing I\u2019ve ever gone through in my life,” while her former boyfriend didn’t understand how bad it was for her. The Washington Examiner reported<\/a>\u00a0Pike’s remarks:<\/p>\n

After the fact, we were just talking. I\u2019m telling him, like, I\u2019m trying to explain what I\u2019m going through, like, I\u2019m having a really hard time getting out of bed in the morning. I don\u2019t eat. I\u2019m not really sleeping. I just \u2014 this was supposed to be my other half. And his reaction, he goes, \u2018Why don\u2019t you just get over it? You just need to get over it already. Like, move on.\u2019 That is the last thing in the world you want to hear. I can\u2019t survive that again. It would destroy me.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n

Afterwards, Pike received heavy criticism from fans of the show for discussing her abortion experience, as well as for revealing that she was in debt. Pike was also accused of marrying her eventual husband, Matt Barnett, for the money. But Pike only opened up more about how her traumatic experience affected her.<\/p>\n
