Racism in the abortion industry is well known. But it’s more extensive than many people realize. It’s endemic, with horrifying racist ideologies found throughout the industry — among its founders, abortionists, politicians, and more. These are just some<\/strong> of the disturbing quotes showing how racism and eugenics still have a home within the abortion industry today.<\/p>\n

1) “We don\u2019t want the word to go out that we want to exterminate the Negro population, and the minister is the man who can straighten out that idea if it ever occurs to any of their more rebellious members.” — Margaret Sanger in a letter<\/a> on her “Negro Project,” written to eugenics proponent Clarence Gamble<\/em><\/em><\/em><\/p>\n

Margaret Sanger, founder of Planned Parenthood<\/a>, was a well-known eugenicist. The documentary “Maafa 21”<\/a> featured Sanger, along with other eugenicists, arguing that birth control should be put in the drinking water for poor and minority neighborhoods, to keep them from conceiving children.<\/p>\n

2) “Don’t put it on the taxpayers, okay? I don’t wish to pay for the baby with my money. I, as a tax payer, do not wish to pay for those babies, to be born and brought up and kill those people in Colorado. Go ahead and pay for them. Let me see you adopt one of those ugly black babies!” — Abortionist Ron Virmani, in an exchange with a pro-life group<\/a> outside of his home.<\/em><\/em><\/p>\n

Charlotte abortionist Ron Virmani is notorious for this racist statement, but it’s the least of his troubling behavior. He’s previously been accused of rape<\/a>, and had his hospital privileges stripped after botching a medical procedure<\/a>. He is still committing abortions, and in another inflammatory exchange with pro-lifers, he shouted for them to “rape [women] and send them here.”<\/a><\/p>\n

3) \u201cFrankly I had thought that at the time [Roe v. Wade] was decided, there was concern about population growth and particularly growth in populations that we don\u2019t want to have too many of.\u201d — Ruth Bader Ginsburg, in an interview<\/a> with the New York Times Magazine<\/em><\/em><\/p>\n

Ruth Bader Ginsburg, a pro-abortion Supreme Court justice, notoriously made this statement while speaking to Emily Bazelon. The statement about populations we “don’t want to have too many of” was never explained in the interview; Bader Ginsburg didn’t elaborate, and Bazelon didn’t bother to ask for clarification. Yet it’s another example of abortion supporters looking to abortion as a tool to keep certain people from having children.<\/p>\n

4) \u201cI\u2019m not about to be the male to tell a woman what to do with her body. She has a right to make a decision herself…. Some kids is unwanted, so you kill \u2019em now, or kill \u2019em later. You bring \u2019em in the world unwanted, unloved, and you send \u2019em to the electric chair. So you kill \u2019em now, or kill \u2019em later. But the bottom line of this is that I think we shouldn\u2019t be making this decision.\u201d — Alabama State Rep. John Rogers in comments on the House floor<\/a><\/em><\/em><\/p>\n

Rogers, who is himself Black, is seemingly another abortion advocate that sees Black children who are not wanted by their parents as potential criminals who should be aborted. Rogers never explicitly mentions race, but the facts are that abortion disproportionately affects the Black community<\/a>, and the prison population is also disproportionately Black<\/a>. For people like Rogers, the answer to these potential injustices is to allow abortion because otherwise, those babies will have no future other than a pipeline straight to prison.<\/p>\n
