The data also shows that in\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www1.nyc.gov\/assets\/doh\/downloads\/pdf\/vs\/2016sum.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">2016<\/a>, Black abortions accounted for nearly 40 percent (38.7%) of all abortions in NYC. These alarming statistics reveal how abortion is decimating the Black community and is also hurting other minority groups. Out of 60,000 (59,854) total abortions reported in NYC, nearly 67 percent (66.7%) were committed on minority Black (23,209) and Hispanic women (16,718) leaving some to speculate that there is a targeted eugenics agenda at work.<\/p>\n<p>The grim statistics come from data published in a New York City\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www1.nyc.gov\/assets\/doh\/downloads\/pdf\/vs\/2016sum.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Vital Statistics<\/a> report, and breaks down as follows:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>22,465 live Black births out of a total of\u00a0120,367 reported live births were reported in NYC in\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www1.nyc.gov\/assets\/doh\/downloads\/pdf\/vs\/2016sum.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">2016<\/a>.<\/li>\n<li>23,209 abortions were <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cdc.gov\/mmwr\/volumes\/68\/ss\/ss6811a1.htm?s_cid=ss6811a1_x\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">committed<\/a>\u00a0on Black women out of a total of 59,854 <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cdc.gov\/mmwr\/volumes\/68\/ss\/pdfs\/ss6811a1-H.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">reported<\/a> abortions in NYC in <a href=\"https:\/\/www1.nyc.gov\/assets\/doh\/downloads\/pdf\/vs\/2016sum.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">2016<\/a>.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<div id=\"attachment_218288\" style=\"width: 642px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><img aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-218288\" decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"wp-image-218288 size-full\" src=\"https:\/\/archive.liveaction.org\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/02\/New-York-City-abortion-v-live-births-2016-NYC-Vital-Statistics.jpg\" alt=\"Image: New York City abortion v live births, 2016 (Graph: NYC Vital Statistics) \" width=\"632\" height=\"458\" srcset=\"https:\/\/archive.liveaction.org\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/02\/New-York-City-abortion-v-live-births-2016-NYC-Vital-Statistics.jpg 632w, https:\/\/archive.liveaction.org\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/02\/New-York-City-abortion-v-live-births-2016-NYC-Vital-Statistics-300x217.jpg 300w, https:\/\/archive.liveaction.org\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/02\/New-York-City-abortion-v-live-births-2016-NYC-Vital-Statistics-500x362.jpg 500w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 632px) 100vw, 632px\" \/><p id=\"caption-attachment-218288\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">New York City abortion v live births, of Black babies 2016 (Graph: NYC Vital Statistics)<\/p><\/div>\n<p><strong>National data<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>According to the CDC, in <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cdc.gov\/mmwr\/volumes\/68\/ss\/pdfs\/ss6811a1-H.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">2016<\/a>, New York City also had the highest overall abortion ratio of the selected states they reviewed, committing\u00a0519\u00a0abortions per 1,000 live births (59,854 <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cdc.gov\/mmwr\/volumes\/68\/ss\/pdfs\/ss6811a1-H.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">abortions<\/a> v. 120,367 <a href=\"https:\/\/www1.nyc.gov\/assets\/doh\/downloads\/pdf\/vs\/2016sum.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">live births<\/a>).<\/p>\n<p>Tragically, on a national level, the news is also grim.\u00a0While nationally, live Black births in <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cdc.gov\/nchs\/data\/nvsr\/nvsr67\/nvsr67_01.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">2016<\/a> totaled 558,622 to non-Hispanic Black women, there were also an\u00a0236,919 <a href=\"https:\/\/archive.liveaction.org\/news\/abortions-highest-percentage-black-women-2000\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">estimated<\/a> Black abortions in that year alone. Live Action News <a href=\"https:\/\/archive.liveaction.org\/news\/abortions-highest-percentage-black-women-2000\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">previously<\/a>\u00a0documented that in <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cdc.gov\/mmwr\/volumes\/68\/ss\/pdfs\/ss6811a1-H.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">2016<\/a>, although Blacks made up just <em>12 percent<\/em> of the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.kff.org\/other\/state-indicator\/distribution-by-raceethnicity\/?dataView=0&amp;currentTimeframe=2&amp;selectedDistributions=black&amp;sortModel=%7B%22colId%22:%22Location%22,%22sort%22:%22asc%22%7D\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">U.S. population<\/a>, non-Hispanic Black women accounted for\u00a0<strong>38 percent<\/strong>\u00a0of all reported abortions. In addition, nationally, data reported on <em>race<\/em>\u00a0in 2016 and reviewed by Live Action News for <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cdc.gov\/mmwr\/volumes\/68\/ss\/pdfs\/ss6811a1-H.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">abortions<\/a> v.\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.cdc.gov\/nchs\/data\/nvsr\/nvsr67\/nvsr67_01.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">live births<\/a>\u00a0revealed that out of 32 reporting areas by race (CDC), over one-quarter of the states reported that Black babies killed by <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cdc.gov\/mmwr\/volumes\/68\/ss\/pdfs\/ss6811a1-H.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">abortion<\/a> totaled <em>nearly half or over half<\/em> of the reported <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cdc.gov\/nchs\/data\/nvsr\/nvsr67\/nvsr67_01.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Black births<\/a> in the following states:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Connecticut: 2,714 Black abortions v. 4,453 Black live births<\/li>\n<li>Georgia: 20,230 Black abortions v. 44,408 Black live births<\/li>\n<li>Kansas: 1,451 Black abortions v. 2,543 Black live births<\/li>\n<li>Michigan: 13,121 Black abortions v. 20,565 Black live births<\/li>\n<li>Montana: 30 Black abortions v. 57 Black live births<\/li>\n<li>New Jersey: 8,086 Black abortions v. 13,870 Black live births<\/li>\n<li>New Mexico: 182 Black abortions v. 354 Black live births<\/li>\n<li>North Carolina: 12,346 Black abortions v. 27,422 Black live births<\/li>\n<li>Oregon: 520 Black abortions v. 944 Black live births<\/li>\n<li>Vermont: 29 Black abortions v. 70 Black live births<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Eugenics agenda<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>This alarming data is one of the reasons pro-life groups maintain that abortion organizations like <a href=\"https:\/\/archive.liveaction.org\/news\/planned-parenthoods-connections-to-eugenics\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Planned Parenthood<\/a> may be targeting the Black community. Planned Parenthood&#8217;s eugenics agenda began under its founder, Margaret Sanger, who remains a\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/archive.liveaction.org\/news\/planned-parenthood-founder-margaret-sanger-spoke-ku-klux-klan-supported-eugenics-organization-still-honor\/\">hero<\/a>\u00a0to the abortion industry, despite her admission that she met with members of the Ku Klux Klan,\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.maafa21.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">advocated<\/a>\u00a0eugenics, and supported the use of sterilization to rid the planet of the \u201cunfit.\u201d<\/p>\n<div id=\"attachment_170990\" style=\"width: 321px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><img aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-170990\" decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"wp-image-170990\" src=\"https:\/\/archive.liveaction.org\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/08\/Planned-Parenthood-praises-Margaret-Sanger-on-FB.png\" alt=\"Planned Parenthood praises Margaret Sanger on FB\" width=\"311\" height=\"428\" srcset=\"https:\/\/archive.liveaction.org\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/08\/Planned-Parenthood-praises-Margaret-Sanger-on-FB.png 392w, https:\/\/archive.liveaction.org\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/08\/Planned-Parenthood-praises-Margaret-Sanger-on-FB-218x300.png 218w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 311px) 100vw, 311px\" \/><p id=\"caption-attachment-170990\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Planned Parenthood praises Margaret Sanger on FB<\/p><\/div>\n<p>Planned Parenthood and others within the abortion industry are gearing up their <a href=\"https:\/\/archive.liveaction.org\/news\/abortion-groups-plan-increase-demand\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">efforts<\/a> to\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/archive.liveaction.org\/news\/planned-parenthood-plan-financial-incentives-abortion-limits\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">normalize abortion<\/a>\u00a0among women of color and the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/archive.liveaction.org\/news\/planned-parenthood-black-organizing-program-targets-population\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Black community<\/a>\u00a0in general. In addition, Live Action News has\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/archive.liveaction.org\/news\/abortions-industry-minority-tv-movies\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">previously<\/a>\u00a0documented how Planned Parenthood has\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/archive.liveaction.org\/news\/planned-parenthood-abortion-abortion\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">vowed<\/a>\u00a0to fight for more Hollywood portrayals of women of color having abortions. Live Action News also\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/archive.liveaction.org\/news\/planned-parenthood-black-organizing-program-targets-population\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">recently<\/a> documented\u00a0Planned Parenthood&#8217;s newly-<a href=\"https:\/\/www.linkedin.com\/jobs\/view\/2020-summer-intern-black-organizing-program-at-planned-parenthood-federation-of-america-1642557638\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">created<\/a>\u00a0\u201cBlack Organizing Program.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The longtime eugenic targeting of the Black community by the abortion industry is having devastating results. We can now\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/archive.liveaction.org\/news\/progress-decade-7-million-children-aborted\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">estimate<\/a>\u00a0that between\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.cdc.gov\/mmwr\/preview\/mmwrhtml\/ss6208a1.htm?s_cid=ss6208a1_w\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">2010<\/a>\u00a0and\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/archive.liveaction.org\/news\/abortions-highest-percentage-black-women-2000\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">2016<\/a>\u00a0over 1.7 million Black babies lost their lives to abortion in the United States. Today, the most current\u00a0data (<a href=\"https:\/\/www.cdc.gov\/mmwr\/volumes\/68\/ss\/pdfs\/ss6811a1-H.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">2016)<\/a>\u00a0also <a href=\"https:\/\/archive.liveaction.org\/news\/abortions-dropped-50-percent-1980-cdc-report\/\">reveals<\/a>\u00a0that\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/archive.liveaction.org\/news\/abortions-highest-percentage-black-women-2000\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">estimated<\/a> Black abortion numbers are <em>24 times greater than homicides<\/em>\u00a0committed on Black Americans (236,919 v. 9,860).
