This year&#8217;s theme is <a href=\"https:\/\/marchforlife.org\/national-march-for-life\/\">Life Empowers: Pro-Life is Pro-Woman<\/a>. March for Life President Jeanne Mancini announced that the first wave of speakers at the rally on the National Mall before the March will include Democratic Representative <a href=\"https:\/\/archive.liveaction.org\/news\/louisiana-democrat-pro-life-innocent-baby\/\">Katrina Jackson<\/a> of Louisiana, Republican Representative <a href=\"https:\/\/archive.liveaction.org\/news\/rep-ann-wagner-hits-back-at-planned-parenthood-abortion-is-not-healthcare-kills-children\/\">Ann Wagner<\/a> of Missouri, Republican Representative <a href=\"https:\/\/archive.liveaction.org\/news\/chris-smith-planned-parenthood-traffickers\/\">Chris Smith<\/a> of New Jersey, and abortion survivors\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=I4WJIvbEdWk\">Melissa Ohden<\/a>\u00a0and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=7sRYz7IDru0\">Claire Culwell<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><iframe loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/9a4mEoX-bUs\" width=\"640\" height=\"355\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen=\"allowfullscreen\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Rep. Katrina Jackson spoke at the March for Life in 2019 as well. She has become known as one of a handful of openly pro-life Democrats nationally. In June, she told <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nbcnews.com\/politics\/politics-news\/democrats-fight-abortion-opponents-including-those-inside-party-n1012766\">NBC News<\/a> about her position on abortion. &#8220;I think it (abortion) mitigates our race&#8217;s voting power, it hurts our race&#8217;s power in the census. I really consider it to be modern-day genocide,&#8221; she said.<\/p>\n<p>Representatives Wagner and Smith both sponsored the commonsense <a href=\"https:\/\/archive.liveaction.org\/news\/witnesses-abortion-survivors-protection-wantedness-humanness\/\">Born Alive Abortion Survivors Protection Act<\/a>, which seeks to require the same basic medical care be provided to infants who survive a botched abortion as received by other premature infants.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/ci4.googleusercontent.com\/proxy\/sh_g9WWFbO7jX_V4gRbLcEXY0ThAbOFOFtj7pVrYGH2QJEE9lZlbUN78Vs2feCC18OIu2ZE9IvQN4Y3b4FDTbGV8RcLWmJOoDLurzPzc0EMrMBJvdEXrtjhLEL_3KScBoiF3mfPooqrbBNrNpKlFXOLo6cqgy98-mr0=s0-d-e1-ft#https:\/\/gallery.mailchimp.com\/32a7a438d5f6bfbb5aed029f1\/images\/bf1e60f0-88f2-4ab4-868e-153fc0215c2b.png\" width=\"417\" height=\"417\" \/><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/archive.liveaction.org\/news\/smirks-jokes-women-saved-abortion-capitol-hill\/\">Melissa Ohden<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/ClaireCulwell\/?__tn__=%2Cd%2CP-R&amp;eid=ARBlGIt3uBhdx7EBRswjOj8AGcbXTLSJsePl2sLdHDOmfjxYHiz57_IdM_SDQTnyqdBPRg2Lc130rrbh\">Claire Culwell<\/a> are both survivors of botched abortions. Melissa Ohden was rescued by a nurse who noticed that she was breathing after being delivered following a saline abortion and was rushed to the NICU. Claire Culwell survived her 13-year-old mother&#8217;s dilation and curettage (D&amp;C) abortion while her twin sibling did not.<\/p>\n<p>March for Life events include a half-day <a href=\"https:\/\/marchforlife.org\/conference\/\">conference<\/a> on Thursday, January 23rd featuring Dr. Christina Francis, chairman of the American Association of Pro-Life Obstetricians and Gynecologists (AAPLOG), author Sue Ellen Browder, legal scholar Erika Bachiochi, Project Rachel&#8217;s Mary McCluskey, and Stanton Healthcare founder Brandi Swindell.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/ci4.googleusercontent.com\/proxy\/-dyHwVX-Mju2hRa53d4JKxqsVMd-YLWe09zy0nW1GOqbdzrbxkHr6vYHrs6DHmQfS46VynRySEZXHnIYfXLVwcBiHIP2E1ipsJ0m9iibPaYEs73hzHk8TUeGE1gEcOjRxAZE5uRjwQkwwRs9Y0csjdy_Xv2Ta15Qr2k=s0-d-e1-ft#https:\/\/gallery.mailchimp.com\/32a7a438d5f6bfbb5aed029f1\/images\/4b050ac1-4eef-4e78-82b2-c550f4d6bb93.png\" width=\"418\" height=\"418\" \/><\/p>\n<p>The March for Life <a href=\"https:\/\/marchforlife.org\/youth-rally\/\">Youth Rally<\/a> will take place in the afternoon on Thursday and will feature Charlotte Pence, Allie Stuckey, Abby Johnson, Live Action News writer <a href=\"https:\/\/archive.liveaction.org\/news\/abortion-survivor-congress-abortion-political-live-day\/\">Christina Marie Bennett<\/a>, Phil King, Angelica Park, and Bryan Kemper as well as a performance by the band The Restless. On the day of the March, Christian band <a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=MmF3EZWVCbI&amp;feature=youtu.be\">We are Messengers<\/a> will perform a pre-rally concert. The rally will start at noon, with the March beginning around 1 pm.<\/p>\n<p>After the March, the sold-out <a href=\"https:\/\/marchforlife.org\/annual-rose-dinner\/\">Rose Dinner<\/a> will be &#8220;an evening of inspiration and fellowship&#8221; including a keynote by Sr. Bethany Madonna of the New York-based <a href=\"https:\/\/archive.liveaction.org\/news\/sisters-of-life-women-unplanned-pregnancies\/\">Sisters of Life<\/a>.
