(Life Site News<\/a>)\u00a0A UK woman who was told she would miscarry her unborn baby after her water broke at 13 weeks gave birth December 1 to a three-pound daughter she described as her \u201cChristmas miracle.\u201d<\/p>\n

Doctors also told Kirsty Mizon, 23, that she was carrying a boy, and repeatedly offered the young mother abortion, warning that she was at high risk of sepsis and her baby would be be stillborn or handicapped, reported Derbyshire Live<\/a>.<\/p>\n

But Mizon refused, and carried her baby another 16 weeks even though it put her life at risk.<\/p>\n

\u201cAt times I felt like I was breaking. The bleeding was so bad, I was passing 10cm blood clots,\u201d said Mizon, who is also mother to Leo, 3, and Logan, 2.<\/p>\n

\u201cI didn\u2019t know if I was strong enough to go through it, but I couldn\u2019t give up on my baby.\u201d<\/p>\n

At the same time, Mizon braced for the worst, and had planned her baby\u2019s funeral when she went into premature labor at 29 weeks of pregnancy, she told Derbyshire Live.<\/p>\n

When she heard her baby cry, \u201cit was the best feeling ever, the greatest sound I have ever heard.\u201d<\/p>\n

She and partner Lewis Peach, 26, named their \u201clittle fighter\u201d daughter Lacey.<\/p>\n

\u201cI know it doesn\u2019t happen to everyone and there is not always a good outcome, but hang on if you can, because there can be a happy ending,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n

Mizon, who lives in Burton, Staffordshire, in England\u2019s West Midlands district, said that when she first found out she was pregnant she \u201cwas so excited and started buying stuff right away.\u201d<\/p>\n

But then suddenly things went very wrong.<\/p>\n

\u201cI was 13 weeks\u2019 pregnant when I woke up in the night. I thought I had been sweating because it was hot so I changed my pajamas and got back in bed.<\/p>\n

\u201cThat was at 4 a.m. At 8 a.m., I was walking to work when I thought I needed the toilet and I started dripping blood,\u201d she related.<\/p>\n

\u201cI rushed home and called an ambulance. When I saw all the blood I knew it would be bad news. It was horrible.\u201d<\/p>\n

The doctors at the hospital \u201csaid my waters have broken and said my baby will pass away within 48 hours. They told me to go home and wait for it to happen.\u201d<\/p>\n

Mizon was \u201cdevastated.\u201d<\/p>\n

She returned home and \u201cwaited for the inevitable to happen. But it didn\u2019t. My baby\u2019s heartbeat was still going strong.\u201d<\/p>\n

As her pregnancy progressed, the doctors persisted in offering her abortion, telling Mizon her baby \u201cwill be handicapped and won\u2019t be able to use his limbs.\u201d<\/p>\n

They gave the baby \u201cone percent survival rate because I was constantly losing amniotic fluid,\u201d she said. \u201cEvery scan I had I only had 1cm or 2cm of fluid and sometimes I had nothing at all.\u201d<\/p>\n

The doctors told her that \u201cwith no fluid the baby wouldn\u2019t have any lung capacity or be able to move. It was awful. They also told me I was at high risk of sepsis. I thought I have got two kids at home. I was blood tested constantly,\u201d Mizon told Derbyshire Live.<\/p>\n

\u201cI expected the worse and it was very traumatic,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n

\u201cI planned his funeral and I couldn\u2019t be in public places as being near babies just filled me with fear and sadness.<\/p>\n

\u201cI had been in touch with a bereavement midwife before and I cried so many tears for the baby I thought I was going to lose. I was even put on antidepressants.\u201d<\/p>\n

Mizon was scheduled for a Caesarean section at 34 weeks of pregnancy but went into premature labor at 29 weeks.\u201cI had pains all day and by the time I got to the hospital I was 10cm dilated. My sister and mum were with me, but I felt emotionless. I wanted to block it out, to run away,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n

\u201cAnd then I heard my baby cry,\u201d Mizon said.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe midwife turned to me and said, \u2018he is a she, you have a little girl.\u2019 I couldn\u2019t believe it. I had kept her in there without fluid for almost four months.\u201d<\/p>\n

The doctors also told Mizon that if Lacey\u2019s heartbeat dropped \u201cthey wouldn\u2019t help her because of the previous complications, but she was a little fighter and we were transferred to Leicester NICU,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n

Lacey is doing \u201creally well\u201d and \u201conly has one problem which can be fixed with physiotherapy,\u201d and will probably be released home from the hospital by the New Year, Mizon said.<\/p>\n

\u201cI am still in shock. I just can\u2019t believe I have a baby. A beautiful baby girl.\u201d<\/p>\n
