Operation Rescue<\/a>\u00a0has learned from pro-life witnesses that an ambulance responded to New York City’s Margaret Sanger Planned Parenthood facility on November 14, transporting their 13th patient of the year to an area hospital.<\/p>\n

This Planned Parenthood facility is notorious for putting women in danger. Responding to what was likely a request from the 911-caller, the arriving ambulance turned off its sirens several blocks from the facility. It was then left to navigate around traffic and construction barriers at a slower response rate, while a woman inside the facility was suffering from a medical emergency. Once they arrived, paramedics were unable to bring a gurney inside with them because the building’s elevator is too cramped to accommodate this necessary medical device. A woman later followed them out on foot and a short time later she was transported to an area hospital. The ambulance again\u00a0did not turn on its sirens until it was several blocks away from the facility.<\/p>\n

Ambulances are regularly asked to delay their response time with a run of no sirens and lights because abortion facility employees are unwilling to draw attention to the dangers that take place within. This facility has also failed to make any upgrades to the building that would better accommodate a woman suffering a medical emergency. While it claims to be a beacon of women’s health, actions like these prove that Planned Parenthood cares little for the well-being of its patients.<\/p>\n

This most recent experience is far from unusual at the Margaret Sanger Planned Parenthood. This latest medical emergency marks the 33rd incident documented by Operation Rescue since 2016. There may well likely be more, as Operation Rescue relies solely on pro-life eyewitnesses for this information.\u00a0Because 911 records are not publicly available in New York City, it is impossible to know the nature of these medical emergencies. Nevertheless, when at least 13 women have been injured in one year, it is cause for immense concern.<\/p>\n

Operation Rescue and its pro-life allies have noted an uptick in ambulance responses to this facility since this year’s passage of the New York Reproductive Health Act, which rolled back almost all abortion restrictions in the state. With regulations repealed, medical emergencies have been on the rise.<\/p>\n

\u201cNew York is a case in point for pro-life legislation that protects women from shoddy abortion practices,” said Operation Rescue’s President Troy Newman. “When states roll back on common-sense abortion accountability and safety regulations, women suffer the consequences in emergency room visits, traumatic injuries, and sometimes death.”<\/p>\n
