Following the news, Students for Life of America (SFLA) announced that the group will work with students and healthcare workers whose conscience rights will be violated if they are forced to participate in abortions.<\/p>\n<p>In a press release, SFLA President Kristan Hawkins stated, \u201cStudent fees underwrite the costs of the healthcare centers on campuses, which will now be required to distribute deadly chemical abortion pills. And healthcare professionals will also be forced to hand them out\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/StudentsforLife\/status\/1153627363382648833\">no matter the consequences<\/a>\u00a0to women\u2019s health, but Students for Life of America will make sure to connect these victims of conscience right violations with legal help to stop the spread of a bad idea that is only good for propping up abortion vendors like Planned Parenthood.\u201d<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><iframe loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/M5xohmM60TM\" width=\"640\" height=\"355\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen=\"allowfullscreen\"><span data-mce-type=\"bookmark\" style=\"display: inline-block; width: 0px; overflow: hidden; line-height: 0;\" class=\"mce_SELRES_start\">\ufeff<\/span><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>As Live Action News\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/archive.liveaction.org\/news\/will-fund-abortion-pills-california-campuses\/\">previously reported<\/a>, the abortion pill on campus will initially be funded by pro-abortion groups, but student fees underwrite the costs of on-campus health centers. As pro-life student leader Bernadette Tasy <a href=\"https:\/\/studentsforlife.org\/2019\/08\/05\/young-californian-writes-letter-opposing-campus-abortion-bill\/\">noted<\/a>, the University of California system estimated a \u201cfunding shortfall of $4.6 to $7.8 million\u2026. [B]eginning January 1, 2023, no source of funding is provided in SB 24. Without funding, the student health centers will incur ongoing costs in the range of $2.2 to $3.2 annually. Unless financing is made available post 2023, by the state or foundation, this cost will fall to students.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>In response to the passage of SB24, SFLA is gathering names of students and healthcare workers whose conscience rights are violated. The website <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nocampusabortions.com\/\">NoCampusAbortions.com<\/a> has a form on the homepage for students who do not want their student fees to pay for abortions or healthcare workers who do not want to be forced to administer life-ending drugs.
