A Facebook user created this meme below, and then bullied the one person who dared speak the truth.\u00a0While Planned Parenthood provides manual breast exams, <em>it does not provide mammograms<\/em>\u00a0 &#8212; yet frequently, when the public thinks of breast cancer screenings, mammograms are what come to mind:<\/p>\n<div id=\"attachment_212252\" style=\"width: 540px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><img aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-212252\" decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\" wp-image-212252\" src=\"https:\/\/archive.liveaction.org\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/10\/71908487_10157428745681153_485993283462365184_n-700x467.jpg\" alt=\"planned parenthood mammograms\" width=\"530\" height=\"353\" srcset=\"https:\/\/archive.liveaction.org\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/10\/71908487_10157428745681153_485993283462365184_n-700x467.jpg 700w, https:\/\/archive.liveaction.org\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/10\/71908487_10157428745681153_485993283462365184_n-300x200.jpg 300w, https:\/\/archive.liveaction.org\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/10\/71908487_10157428745681153_485993283462365184_n-768x512.jpg 768w, https:\/\/archive.liveaction.org\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/10\/71908487_10157428745681153_485993283462365184_n.jpg 960w, https:\/\/archive.liveaction.org\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/10\/71908487_10157428745681153_485993283462365184_n-500x333.jpg 500w, https:\/\/archive.liveaction.org\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/10\/71908487_10157428745681153_485993283462365184_n-360x240.jpg 360w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 530px) 100vw, 530px\" \/><p id=\"caption-attachment-212252\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Breast Cancer Awareness Month 2019 &#8212; an individual&#8217;s Facebook post<\/p><\/div>\n<p>It&#8217;s true that wearing pink in support of Breast Cancer Awareness Month <em>won&#8217;t<\/em> cure breast cancer, but neither will Planned Parenthood. The difference is that the people wearing pink are showing support for the individuals they love who have fought breast cancer, as well as all the people who have been in that battle at any point in time. They are raising awareness in hopes of a cure. Planned Parenthood, on the other hand, fired its president Dr. Leana Wen for being more interested in offering <em>health care<\/em> for women instead of focusing on promoting abortion.<\/p>\n<p>In 2011, a Live Action actor contacted 30 Planned Parenthood facilities in 27 different states to inquire about getting a mammogram. Every single facility told her that they <em>do not provide the service<\/em>, despite the fact that Richards led the public to believe that they do.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">\u00a0<iframe loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/aq0kBkUZbvQ\" width=\"640\" height=\"355\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen=\"allowfullscreen\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>In 2015, Richards had to finally <a href=\"https:\/\/archive.liveaction.org\/news\/planned-parenthood-ceos-false-mammogram-claim\/\">admit<\/a> during congressional testimony that Planned Parenthood doesn&#8217;t offer <a href=\"https:\/\/archive.liveaction.org\/news\/mammosham-watch-the-viral-video-exposing-planned-parenthood-false-mammogram-claims\/\">mammogram services<\/a> &#8212; however, she claimed that they had never said they did. But even former President Barack Obama was spreading the lie during the 2012 election and Miss America joined in the sham in 2015.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">\u00a0<iframe loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/tu_0-iD-rPk\" width=\"640\" height=\"355\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen=\"allowfullscreen\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>While there are Planned Parenthood locations that offer clinical breast exams, The <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cancer.org\/cancer\/breast-cancer\/frequently-asked-questions-about-the-american-cancer-society-new-breast-cancer-screening-guideline.html\">American Cancer Society<\/a> (ACS) no longer recommends a clinical breast exam as a cancer screening method for women in the United States. With the improvement in mammography and women&#8217;s awareness and response time to breast cancer symptoms, studies have shown that clinical breast exams don&#8217;t offer solid breast cancer detection when mammograms are available, according to the ACS. Breast self-exams are also no longer recommended as an option for women of any age. Women should watch for changes in their breasts and call the doctor if they notice any.<\/p>\n<p>This October, don&#8217;t buy the lie that Planned Parenthood provides health care for women. What little care they do offer has been steadily declining as their number of abortions per year continues to climb. According to Planned Parenthood&#8217;s own annual reports, breast exams at their facilities <a href=\"https:\/\/archive.liveaction.org\/news\/planned-parenthood-plummeting-health-increased-abortion\/\">dropped<\/a> 65 percent from 2007 to 2017, down 851,232 to 296,310. Abortions, however, have <em>increased by nine percent<\/em>, rising from 305,310 to 332,757 between 2007 and 2017.<\/p>\n<p><strong>READ:\u00a0<em><a href=\"https:\/\/archive.liveaction.org\/news\/santorum-educates-view-planned-parenthood-doesnt-provide-mammograms\/\">Santorum educates The View: Planned Parenthood doesn\u2019t provide mammograms<\/a><\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Ousted president Wen tweeted after her firing that she wanted to prioritize health care over political advocacy at Planned Parenthood, and it appears to have cost her the job.\u00a0\u201cOver a year ago when I came to the search committee selecting Planned Parenthood\u2019s next president,\u201d Wen wrote in a letter she\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/DrLeanaWen\/status\/1151233772181999616\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">shared<\/a>\u00a0on Twitter, \u201cI posed this question: Did they see Planned Parenthood as an advocacy organization first, with medical services that are necessary to strengthen its impact or did they see Planned Parenthood as a health care organization first, with advocacy as a necessary vehicle to protect rights and access? For me, as a doctor and health care leader the answer was straightforward: providing essential primary and preventative care to millions of underserved women and families should always be the driving force of Planned Parenthood\u2019s work.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>But with $45 million recently <a href=\"https:\/\/archive.liveaction.org\/news\/planned-parenthood-spend-45-million-defeat-pro-lifers-2020\/\">pledged<\/a> to elect pro-abortion politicans in 2020 in order to ensure abortion remains legal, it&#8217;s clear that Planned Parenthood&#8217;s focus is not health care &#8212; and definitely not breast cancer.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><em><strong><a
