According to a press release <a href=\"https:\/\/www.hhs.gov\/about\/news\/2019\/09\/30\/hhs-issues-supplemental-grant-awards-to-title-x-recipients.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">published<\/a> by\u00a0the Office of Population Affairs (OPA), Planned Parenthood and other abortion advocacy or abortion-sympathetic recipients relinquished $33.6 million in Title X grants. Until now, Title X has been the second largest source of federal funding for Planned Parenthood, behind Medicaid. The announcement posted at the HHS website <a href=\"https:\/\/www.hhs.gov\/about\/news\/2019\/09\/30\/hhs-issues-supplemental-grant-awards-to-title-x-recipients.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">reveals<\/a> the following grantees were voluntarily terminated:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>AK &#8211; Planned Parenthood of Great Northwest &amp; Hawaiian Islands<\/li>\n<li>CT &#8211; Planned Parenthood of Southern New England<\/li>\n<li>ID &#8211; Planned Parenthood of Great Northwest &amp; Hawaiian Islands<\/li>\n<li>IL &#8211; Illinois Department of Health<\/li>\n<li>IL &#8211; Planned Parenthood of Illinois<\/li>\n<li>MA &#8211; Health Imperatives Inc.<\/li>\n<li>MA &#8211; Massachusetts Department of Public Health<\/li>\n<li>MD &#8211; Maryland Department of Health<\/li>\n<li>ME &#8211; Family Planning Association of Maine Inc.<\/li>\n<li>MN &#8211; Planned Parenthood Minnesota, North Dakota, South Dakota<\/li>\n<li>NH &#8211; Planned Parenthood of Northern New England<\/li>\n<li>NY &#8211; Public Health Solutions<\/li>\n<li>NY &#8211; New York Department of Health<\/li>\n<li>OH &#8211; Planned Parenthood of Greater Ohio<\/li>\n<li>OR &#8211; Oregon Health Authority<\/li>\n<li>UT &#8211; Planned Parenthood Association of Utah<\/li>\n<li>VT &#8211; Vermont Agency of Human Services<\/li>\n<li>WA &#8211; Washington State Department of Health<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&#8220;OPA acted quickly to mitigate the potential interruption in services caused by a minority of recipients that chose to abandon the Title X program between July and September,&#8221; the HHS press release states.\u00a0In place of abortion groups, HHS will be sending the tax payer dollars to departments of health in Alabama, Arkansas,\u00a0Colorado,\u00a0Delaware,\u00a0Idaho,\u00a0Kansas\u00a0 Kentucky,\u00a0Mississippi,\u00a0Montana, North Dakota,\u00a0New Mexico,\u00a0Ohio, Oklahoma,\u00a0Rhode Island, South Carolina, South Dakota, Tennessee, Wisconsin, and West Virginia, as well as several additional health care organizations ranging more than 30 states.<\/p>\n<p>Planned Parenthood made the calculated decision to prioritize abortion over health care for\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/archive.liveaction.org\/news\/poor-women-health-centers-planned-parenthood\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">low income clients<\/a>\u00a0in August, followed by announcements from several state agencies to do the same in solidarity with the abortion organization. Live Action News has <a href=\"https:\/\/archive.liveaction.org\/news\/yes-your-tax-dollars-fund-abortions-at-planned-parenthood\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">documented<\/a> how, due to <a href=\"https:\/\/archive.liveaction.org\/news\/yes-your-tax-dollars-fund-abortions-at-planned-parenthood\/\">fungibility<\/a>,\u00a0Title X taxpayer dollars may have actually been indirectly funding abortion. Here&#8217;s how:<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><iframe loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/BgB5E91lD6s\" width=\"640\" height=\"355\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen=\"allowfullscreen\"><span data-mce-type=\"bookmark\" style=\"display: inline-block; width: 0px; overflow: hidden; line-height: 0;\" class=\"mce_SELRES_start\">\ufeff<\/span><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>In past years, Planned Parenthood has received an estimated $60 million from\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/archive.liveaction.org\/news\/five-facts-planned-parenthood-family-planning\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Title X<\/a>\u00a0taxpayer dollars alone annually, and as <a href=\"https:\/\/archive.liveaction.org\/news\/planned-parenthood-60m-battle-defund\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">previously<\/a> reported, is still likely to receive an estimated $500 million (half a billion) from other state and federal taxpayer\u00a0programs each year. The abortion giant now garners <a href=\"https:\/\/archive.liveaction.org\/news\/planned-parenthood-almost-40-percent-us-abortions\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">nearly forty percent<\/a> of the market share of abortions nationally.<\/p>\n<p>Planned Parenthood has falsely claimed the Trump administration forced them out of the Title X program. But, as Dr. Michael New <a href=\"https:\/\/archive.liveaction.org\/news\/planned-parenthood-opposes-titlex-rule-win-women\/\">recently noted<\/a>, nothing could be further from the truth:<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\"><em>However, contrary to the statement by Planned Parenthood President Alexis McGill Johnson, Planned Parenthood was not forced out of the program. Planned Parenthood was still eligible for Title X funds and could even continue to talk to women about abortion in a non-directive manner. The <a href=\"https:\/\/marchforlife.org\/protect-life-rule\/\">Protect Life Rule<\/a> simply prevented them from either referring women to an abortion facility, including their own, or suggesting where to obtain an abortion. An\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/archive.liveaction.org\/news\/over-half-planned-parenthood-revenue-abortion\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">analysis<\/a>\u00a0by Live Action News\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/archive.liveaction.org\/news\/over-half-planned-parenthood-revenue-abortion\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">found<\/a>\u00a0that in\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.plannedparenthood.org\/uploads\/filer_public\/80\/d7\/80d7d7c7-977c-4036-9c61-b3801741b441\/190118-annualreport18-p01.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">2017<\/a>, Planned Parenthood\u2019s estimated abortion revenue reached nearly $200 million ($190.3), totaling 52% of Planned Parenthood\u2019s\u00a0non-government health services revenue. In\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.plannedparenthood.org\/uploads\/filer_public\/80\/d7\/80d7d7c7-977c-4036-9c61-b3801741b441\/190118-annualreport18-p01.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">2017<\/a>, the corporation\u2019s total revenue exceeded $1.6 billion and its excess revenue over expenses totaled a whopping $244.8 million, nearly\u00a0<strong>149 percent increase<\/strong>\u00a0from the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.plannedparenthood.org\/uploads\/filer_public\/71\/53\/7153464c-8f5d-4a26-bead-2a0dfe2b32ec\/20171229_ar16-17_p01_lowres.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">year prior<\/a>.
