(LifeSiteNews<\/a>) – As the preliminary hearing for charges against pro-life investigators David Daleiden and Sandra Merritt continues, Twitter temporarily barred the pro-life Center for Medical Progress (CMP) from live-tweeting the proceedings \u2013 based on a misrepresentation of the tweets from Planned Parenthood\u2019s attorneys, CMP claims.<\/p>\n

CMP has been locked in legal battles with Planned Parenthood and the National Abortion Federation (NAF) since the summer of 2015, when their\u00a0undercover videos revealed<\/a>\u00a0abortion industry insiders expressing interest in profiting off organs from aborted babies, which is illegal. The abortion groups accuse the pro-life investigators of breaking California privacy laws, and obtained a gag order against the release of additional videos.<\/p>\n

Last month, District Judge Orrick\u00a0let stand<\/a>\u00a0Planned Parenthood\u2019s Racketeer Influenced and Corrupt Organizations’ (RICO) claims against CMP,\u00a0 concluding that whether Sandra Merritt and other CMP journalists should be punished for \u201ctrespassing\u201d at a Texas abortion facility was for a jury to decide.<\/p>\n

While the pro-life investigators disputed the legal merits of Orrick\u2019s ruling, Daleiden welcomed the opportunity to force abortionists and other industry figures to take the stand and answer questions about CMP\u2019s revelations, under penalty of perjury.<\/p>\n

The RICO trial is set to begin October 2, but preliminary hearings began this week, which offered the public its first opportunity to one of the CMP videos that had been previously suppressed. The video still cannot be released online, but LifeSite\u2019s\u00a0coverage<\/a>\u00a0of the hearing\u00a0reveals<\/a>\u00a0that the abortionist featured in it, identified only as Doe 3, \u201cadmitted to knowing about babies born alive,\u201d according to defense attorney Brentford Ferreira.<\/p>\n

CMP also\u00a0live-tweeted various revelations from the proceedings, as well as\u00a0summarized<\/a>\u00a0them on their\u00a0website<\/a>:<\/p>\n

On Wednesday, Twitter notified CMP that it was placing a 12-hour suspension on the account over \u201cTweets that violate our rules.\u201d CMP says the move was based on \u201cPlanned Parenthood lawyers falsely describ[ing] CMP\u2019s tweets reporting on the public hearing as \u2018live streaming\u2019 the hearing.\u201d Daleiden added that the judge had specifically allowed CMP to live-tweet the hearing:<\/p>\n

In addition to revealing Planned Parenthood\u2019s fetal-parts harvesting, the CMP videos show abortion insiders\u00a0referencing multiple illegal practices<\/a>, such as performing federally-prohibited partial-birth abortions, and altering abortion procedures in order to procure intact organs. They also show personnel discussing their practice with\u00a0callous and shocking language<\/a>, including admissions that their business is \u201ckilling,\u201d complaints about how \u201cdifficult\u201d it is to tear fetuses apart, and references to \u201cheads that get stuck that we can\u2019t get out.\u201d<\/p>\n
