(LifeSiteNews<\/a>) \u2014 Vandals attacked a pro-life pregnancy center in Austin last weekend.<\/p>\n

Unknown opponents of Austin LifeCare disfigured the new paint on its new building, painting the words \u201cLiars\u201d and \u201cFake Clinic\u201d across the side and the front.<\/p>\n

Andy Schoonover<\/a>, CEO of Austin LifeCare, indicated that the graffiti did not come as a shock.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe are not surprised,\u201d Schoonover said. \u201cAfter all, we had a rock thrown through the window just a couple of months back. We are in [left-leaning] Austin. We are fighting for women and their babies. This just comes with the territory.\u201d<\/p>\n

The idea that pro-life pregnancy care clinics are \u201cfake clinics\u201d is frequently used by pro-abortion activists as an excuse to protest the life-saving medical establishments. In 2017, opponents of pro-life care\u00a0burst into the Atlanta Women\u2019s Care Clinic<\/a>\u00a0to shout at patients that they were being lied to.<\/p>\n

Shoonover said that while the vandalism to the Austin center is \u201can inconvenience,\u201d his team knows that the people who did this \u201care most likely hurting, either having had or facilitated an abortion, and are in need of the healing power of the gospel.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cI don\u2019t feel the need to defend ourselves, but I do feel the need to shine light on the propaganda that these folks are trying to spread,\u201d Schoonover continued.<\/p>\n

\u201cThese folks think that we are trying to lure women into our clinic by convincing them that we provide abortions, then trying to strongarm them into keeping their babies. This is the farthest from the truth.\u201d<\/p>\n

Schoonover stated that Austin LifeCare staff let every client know when she makes an appointment that they neither perform nor refer for abortions. \u201cWe make it abundantly clear to ensure that we do not mislead our clients.\u201d<\/p>\n
