That&#8217;s how many people attended MLK&#8217;s iconic &#8216;I Have a Dream&#8217; speech."},"content":{"rendered":"<div style=\"margin-top: 0px; margin-bottom: 0px;\" class=\"sharethis-inline-share-buttons\" ><\/div><p>On this day in 1963, approximately 250,000 people gathered in Washington, D.C., to listen civil rights leader Dr. Martin Luther King&#8217;s iconic &#8220;I Have a Dream&#8221; speech. Tragically, today, approximately that same number of Black Americans are killed by legal abortion every year. Live Action News <a href=\"https:\/\/archive.liveaction.org\/news\/black-12-percent-36-abortions-eugenics\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">previously<\/a>\u00a0noted that, in 2015, although Blacks made up just <a href=\"https:\/\/www.kff.org\/other\/state-indicator\/distribution-by-raceethnicity\/?dataView=0&amp;currentTimeframe=2&amp;sortModel=%7B%22colId%22:%22Location%22,%22sort%22:%22asc%22%7D\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">12% of the U.S. population<\/a>,\u00a0they accounted for\u00a0<strong>36<\/strong>\u00a0<strong>percent<\/strong>\u00a0of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cdc.gov\/mmwr\/volumes\/67\/ss\/ss6713a1.htm?s_cid=ss6713a1_w\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">reported<\/a> abortions. Depending on the source of statistics used, this means that an estimated\u00a0229,740 (<a href=\"https:\/\/archive.liveaction.org\/news\/black-12-percent-36-abortions-eugenics\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">CDC\/2015<\/a>) to\u00a0259,336 (<a href=\"https:\/\/www.guttmacher.org\/fact-sheet\/induced-abortion-united-states\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Guttmacher\/2014<\/a>) died from abortion in just one year.<\/p>\n<p>Multiply this by 46 years of legalized abortion, and it appears to be a terrible act of Black genocide.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><iframe loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/3P_s3ChZlRY\" width=\"640\" height=\"355\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen=\"allowfullscreen\"><span data-mce-type=\"bookmark\" style=\"display: inline-block; width: 0px; overflow: hidden; line-height: 0;\" class=\"mce_SELRES_start\">\ufeff<\/span><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Sadly, the tragedy did not begin with abortion. Live Action News has <a href=\"https:\/\/archive.liveaction.org\/news\/planned-parenthood-founder-margaret-sanger-spoke-ku-klux-klan-supported-eugenics-organization-still-honor\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">documented<\/a>\u00a0how Planned Parenthood founder Margaret Sanger and many of her <a href=\"https:\/\/archive.liveaction.org\/news\/planned-parenthood-holocaust-eugenic-founder\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">board members<\/a>\u00a0were deeply entrenched in the racist philosophy of eugenics. Among those were\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/archive.liveaction.org\/news\/planned-parenthood-founder-board-non-white\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Lothrop Stoddard,<\/a>\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/archive.liveaction.org\/news\/racist-laughingstock-debate-planned-parenthood-board\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">identified<\/a> as Exalted Cyclops of the Massachusetts chapter of the Ku Klux Klan,\u00a0as well as Planned Parenthood&#8217;s first physician president,\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/archive.liveaction.org\/news\/planned-parenthood-population-control-abortion\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Alan F. Guttmacher<\/a>\u00a0(after whom the Guttmacher Institute is named). Both men pushed population control methods that targeted Black Americans.<\/p>\n<p>While Sanger (a member of the Eugenics Society who <a href=\"https:\/\/archive.liveaction.org\/news\/how-planned-parenthood-abortion-corporation\/\">admitted<\/a> to meeting with members of the Klan) was a vocal proponent of <a href=\"https:\/\/archive.liveaction.org\/news\/black-woman-sterilized-eugenic-planned-parenthood\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">eugenic sterilization,<\/a>\u00a0Guttmacher (a former VP of the Eugenics Society) suggested voluntary methods like abortion would be a better tool. Despite the marketing hype, after their name change, Planned Parenthood <a href=\"https:\/\/archive.liveaction.org\/news\/eugenicist-coerced-sterilization-north-carolina-planned-parenthood\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">itself<\/a> was <a href=\"https:\/\/archive.liveaction.org\/news\/planned-parenthoods-connections-to-eugenics\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">steeped<\/a> in the <a href=\"https:\/\/archive.liveaction.org\/news\/eugenics-proponent-coin-planned-parenthood-iconic-slogan\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">eugenics community<\/a>, taking free rent from eugenics organizations.<\/p>\n<p><strong>READ:\u00a0<em><a href=\"https:\/\/archive.liveaction.org\/news\/4-african-americans-dedicated-saving-lives-abortion\/\">Four Black Americans dedicated to making abortion a thing of the past<\/a><\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Planned Parenthood likes to claim that MLK supported their work because, in 1966, he was awarded Planned Parenthood&#8217;s infamous <a href=\"https:\/\/archive.liveaction.org\/news\/planned-parenthood-eugenicist-founder-name-awards\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Margaret Sanger award<\/a>. But a <a href=\"https:\/\/archive.liveaction.org\/news\/timing-planned-parenthoods-1966-award-mlk-suspicious\/\">look at a timeline<\/a> leading up to the decision\u00a0reveals Planned Parenthood may have had a more devious motive for granting him the award. A 1966 internal memo from Alan Guttmacher and\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/saynsumthn.wordpress.com\/tag\/frederick-jaffe\/\">Fred Jaffe<\/a>\u00a0outlined the plan for winning over the Black community. The memo begins by calling the new plan a \u201cCommunity Relations Program.\u201d The \u201cprogram\u201d is to \u201c<strong>form a liaison between Planned Parenthood and minority organizations<\/strong>\u201d<strong>\u00a0<\/strong>and will emphasize that \u201call people have the opportunity to make their own choices,\u201d rather than, as the memo states,\u00a0\u201c<strong>exhortation telling them how many children they should have<\/strong>.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Live Action News has documented the many <a href=\"https:\/\/archive.liveaction.org\/news\/black-pro-life-women-abortion-genocide\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">voices of dissent<\/a> within the Black community who <a href=\"https:\/\/archive.liveaction.org\/news\/family-planning-suspicion-genocide\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">viewed<\/a> abortion and Planned Parenthood with\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/archive.liveaction.org\/news\/black-leaders-abortion-black-genocide\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">suspicion<\/a>; even strongly\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/archive.liveaction.org\/news\/hyde-amendment-was-supported-by-black-civil-rights-leaders\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">opposing<\/a>\u00a0taxpayer funding of abortion. While the Black community largely saw birth control and abortion as genocide, internal communications reveal that there was a plan in place to <em>use<\/em> Blacks\u00a0themselves to introduce and promote abortion to their community. Some believe this to be an extension of Sanger&#8217;s infamous &#8220;Negro Project.&#8221; Planned Parenthood&#8217;s roll out of this strategy worked. After dialoguing internally about the unease of the Black community, the suggestion was made to add Black members to Planned Parenthood\u2019s board; and (not so) coincidentally, this took place at the same time Planned Parenthood was\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/query.nytimes.com\/gst\/abstract.html?res=9F02E0D91630E034BC4C52DFB7678383679EDE&amp;legacy=true\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">calling<\/a>\u00a0for the decriminalization of abortion.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/archive.liveaction.org\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/02\/Blacks-Charge-Genocide-from-abortion.jpg\" alt=\"Image: Article Blacks Charge Genocide from abortion\" width=\"617\" height=\"475\" \/><\/p>\n<p>In 1966, <a href=\"https:\/\/archive.liveaction.org\/news\/1973-video-former-planned-parenthood-eugenicist-president-responds-roe\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Dr. Alan F. Guttmacher<\/a>, president of the Planned Parenthood Federation, <a href=\"https:\/\/archive.liveaction.org\/news\/timing-planned-parenthoods-1966-award-mlk-suspicious\/\">mentioned the plan<\/a> during a symposium at the University of California Medical Center:<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\"><em>The only way the mounting feeling that birth control is a tool of racism can be handled, is to\u00a0<strong>involve knowledgeable leaders from the minority groups<\/strong>\u00a0who understand and are favorable to the philosophy of birth control. They, in turn, must translate their appreciation of the contribution which birth control can make toward family stability to their own people.<\/em><\/p>\n<p>That same year, Planned Parenthood gave its most infamous award, the Margaret Sanger Award, to Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. It was\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.thekingcenter.org\/archive\/document\/family-planning-special-and-urgent-concern\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">accepted\u00a0<\/a>by his wife, Coretta Scott King, rather than by MLK himself. Then, just two short years later, according to a November 1968\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/query.nytimes.com\/gst\/abstract.html?res=9F02E0D91630E034BC4C52DFB7678383679EDE&amp;legacy=true\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">New York Times article<\/a>, Planned Parenthood went on record calling for abortion and elected their very first Black board chairman to roll out the new agenda \u2014 Dr. Jerome H. Holland. According to media reports, Holland \u201cpledged his support for the group\u2019s program saying that those who call birth control a form of genocide are \u2018not aware of the real meaning of family planning and its uses.\u2019\u201d<\/p>\n<p><strong>READ:\u00a0<em><a href=\"https:\/\/archive.liveaction.org\/news\/martin-luther-king-jr-s-famous-letter-holds-message-of-justice-for-the-unborn\/\">Martin Luther King, Jr.\u2019s famous letter holds message of justice for the unborn<\/a><\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Planned Parenthood&#8217;s devious strategy was exacerbated even further under the corporation&#8217;s first <a href=\"https:\/\/archive.liveaction.org\/news\/planned-parenthood-suspicion-black-genocide\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">female Black president<\/a>, Faye Wattleton, who once <a href=\"https:\/\/archive.liveaction.org\/news\/planned-parenthood-suspicion-black-genocide\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">admitted<\/a> the group &#8220;received contributions from people who want to support us because they want all welfare mothers and all Black women to stop having children.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><iframe loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/0muJOHEZFTM\" width=\"640\" height=\"355\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen=\"allowfullscreen\"><span data-mce-type=\"bookmark\" style=\"display: inline-block; width: 0px; overflow: hidden; line-height: 0;\" class=\"mce_SELRES_start\">\ufeff<\/span><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>There is no doubt that MLK would have rejected this kind of deliberate targeting of the very people his &#8220;I have a dream speech&#8221; was meant to lift up. Although MLK&#8217;s life was suddenly taken from us, many notable\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/archive.liveaction.org\/news\/black-pro-life-women-abortion-genocide\/\">Black leaders<\/a>\u00a0of the past &#8212;\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/archive.liveaction.org\/news\/black-pro-life-women-abortion-genocide\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Fannie Lou Hamer<\/a>,\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/archive.liveaction.org\/news\/15-women-prove-black-pro-life-neither-rare-ignorant\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Dr. Mildred Jefferson<\/a>,\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/archive.liveaction.org\/news\/grier-pro-life-black-genocide\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Dr. Dolores Bernadette Grier<\/a>,\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/archive.liveaction.org\/news\/15-women-prove-black-pro-life-neither-rare-ignorant\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Iowa Rep. June Franklin<\/a>,\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/archive.liveaction.org\/news\/hyde-amendment-was-supported-by-black-civil-rights-leaders\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Erma Clardy Craven<\/a>, and\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/books.google.com\/books?id=ntwDAAAAMBAJ&amp;pg=PA70&amp;dq=genocide,+abortion&amp;hl=en&amp;sa=X&amp;ved=0ahUKEwj2t6mznLHZAhVKMqwKHfktB0U4HhDoAQgqMAE#v=onepage&amp;q=genocide%2C%20abortion&amp;f=false\">even<\/a>\u00a0comedian\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/archive.liveaction.org\/news\/dick-gregory-government-funded-abortion-birth-control-programs-equals-genocide-blacks\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Dick Gregory<\/a>\u00a0&#8212; tried to warn us that <a href=\"https:\/\/archive.liveaction.org\/news\/thousands-opposed-pro-abortion-now-women\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">abortion<\/a>\u00a0would become a tool of <em>Black genocide.\u00a0<\/em><\/p>\n<div id=\"attachment_209590\" style=\"width: 538px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><img aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-209590\" decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\" wp-image-209590\" src=\"https:\/\/archive.liveaction.org\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/08\/Abortion-kills-as-many-Blacks-as-attended-MLK-I-had-Dream-Speech.jpg\" alt=\"Image: Abortion kills as many Blacks as attended MLK I had Dream Speech (Image Live Action Twitter) \" width=\"528\" height=\"580\" srcset=\"https:\/\/archive.liveaction.org\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/08\/Abortion-kills-as-many-Blacks-as-attended-MLK-I-had-Dream-Speech.jpg 665w, https:\/\/archive.liveaction.org\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/08\/Abortion-kills-as-many-Blacks-as-attended-MLK-I-had-Dream-Speech-273x300.jpg 273w, https:\/\/archive.liveaction.org\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/08\/Abortion-kills-as-many-Blacks-as-attended-MLK-I-had-Dream-Speech-637x700.jpg 637w, https:\/\/archive.liveaction.org\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/08\/Abortion-kills-as-many-Blacks-as-attended-MLK-I-had-Dream-Speech-500x550.jpg 500w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 528px) 100vw, 528px\" \/><p id=\"caption-attachment-209590\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Abortion kills as many Blacks as attended MLK I had Dream Speech (Image Live Action Twitter)<\/p><\/div>\n<p>These Black leaders&#8217; predictions seem ominous in light of today&#8217;s data which <a href=\"https:\/\/archive.liveaction.org\/news\/justice-clarence-thomas-abortion-eugenics\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">reveals<\/a> that tragically, the Black\u00a0<strong>abortion rate<\/strong>\u00a0is now\u00a0<em>3.6 times higher<\/em>\u00a0than the White abortion rate (25.1 v. 6.8) and\u00a0<em>2.2 times higher<\/em>\u00a0than the Hispanic abortion rate (25.1 v. 11.2).\u00a0 According to the CDC, Black abortions (229,740 estimated) now outnumber the\u00a0<strong>top nine leading causes<\/strong>\u00a0<strong>of\u00a0<\/strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.cdc.gov\/nchs\/data\/dvs\/lcwk\/lcwk1_hr_2015.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong>death<\/strong><\/a><strong>\u00a0<\/strong>(225,955)\u00a0for Black Americans <em>combined<\/em>. In 2015 alone, estimated Black abortion numbers were\u00a0<em>25 times greater than homicides<\/em>\u00a0committed on Black Americans (229, 740 v. 9,038) that same year.<\/p>\n<p>In one year abortion snuffs out between 230,000 to 260,000 Black lives &#8212; the size of MLK&#8217;s speech crowd.
