Pro-life watchdog group Operation Rescue has received a 911-recording<\/a> in which a facility worker requested an ambulance for a patient in distress at Little Rock Family Planning in Little Rock, Arkansas. This instance is one of more than 60 times that emergency personnel have been summoned to this particular facility.<\/p>\n

The March 29th 911 call is heavily redacted, so the extent of the patient’s emergency is unclear. However, as Operation Rescue points out, abortion facilities only resort to summoning emergency personnel in serious cases. As the patient was transported into the ambulance, people on-site with the local pro-life 40 Days for Life chapter witnessed facility workers holding rainbow umbrellas to conceal the patient’s status.<\/p>\n

Through the snippets of unredacted conversation during the 911 call, it is clear that the patient in distress is a female. The dispatcher is also heard asking if there is an AED on site. An AED<\/a>, or automated external defibrillator, is a machine that sends an electric shock to the heart. It’s often used to get the heart beating after cardiac arrest.<\/p>\n
