In other words, New York City will play an active role in the killing of children through abortion, in an act of discrimination simply because they would be born into lower income families.<\/p>\n<p>New York City Mayor <a href=\"https:\/\/archive.liveaction.org\/news\/democratic-extreme-presidential-abortion\/\">Bill de Blasio<\/a>, a 2020 presidential nominee, and City Council Speaker Cory Johnson announced a budget agreement on Friday that includes the funding of abortions through the New York Abortion Access Fund for women who can&#8217;t afford them, even those traveling from out-of-state.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">\u00a0<iframe loading=\"lazy\" style=\"border: none; overflow: hidden;\" src=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/plugins\/post.php?href=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.facebook.com%2Fnyaaf%2Fposts%2F2392427467484764&amp;width=500\" width=\"500\" height=\"554\" frameborder=\"0\" scrolling=\"no\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>&#8220;NYAAF is getting $250k from New York City!&#8221; the group said in a Facebook post. &#8220;That makes NYC the first city in the country to directly fund abortions &#8212; and that&#8217;s something to celebrate!&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>According to city officials, the $250,000 would allow for the deaths of approximately 500 innocent preborn children. That&#8217;s about $500 per abortion.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;There haven&#8217;t been that many city and state public officials to say we should publicly fund abortions. It&#8217;s a big statement,&#8221; <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nytimes.com\/2019\/06\/14\/nyregion\/abortion-funding-ny.html?fbclid=IwAR2pG9OomgowXjZRHLuNzsSNS2eO1TTBNPutq6QmQ3OmLVil0FsV0EKv_-M\">said Aziza Ahmed<\/a>, a law professor at Northeastern University in Boston. &#8220;This is a culture war to some degree.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p><strong>READ:\u00a0<em><a href=\"https:\/\/archive.liveaction.org\/news\/new-york-city-where-pizza-parlors-are-safer-than-filthy-uninspected-abortion-clinics\/\">New York City: Where pizza parlors are safer than \u201cfilthy\u201d uninspected abortion clinics<\/a><\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>A culture war it is. Most Americans <a href=\"https:\/\/archive.liveaction.org\/news\/polls-majority-women-dont-want-taxpayer-abortion\/\">oppose<\/a> taxpayer-funded abortion, and of those who do support it, most of them are wealthy. As previously reported by <a href=\"https:\/\/archive.liveaction.org\/news\/?p=204332&amp;preview=true\">Live Action News<\/a>,\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.cnsnews.com\/news\/article\/lauretta-brown\/politico-poll-majority-likely-voters-oppose-taxpayer-funding-abortion\">a 2016 poll<\/a>\u00a0by Politico and the Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health found that\u00a0\u201cvoters making more than $75,000 were more supportive of using Medicaid funds for abortion services (45% favor) than those making $25,000 or less (24% favor).\u201d What does this mean? Wealthier people want abortions to be more easily available to low-income people while those who are more likely to be on Medicaid <em>don&#8217;t<\/em> want taxpayer dollars to pay for abortion.\u00a0Do the rich want to eliminate the poor through abortion?<\/p>\n<p>This latest move from New York City, where <a href=\"https:\/\/archive.liveaction.org\/news\/abortions-devastating-impact-upon-black-americans\/\">more Black children<\/a> are killed through abortion than are born, is a response to the pro-life laws that are being passed in other states including Mississippi, Louisiana, Georgia, and Ohio.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;We heard the news on the abortion bans across the country,&#8221; said City Councilwoman Carlina Rivera. &#8220;Many of us in New York felt helpless.
