On his show Real Time with Bill Maher, comedian and political commentator Bill Maher admitted<\/a> he has reservations about supporting unrestricted abortion, saying that he was almost a victim of abortion himself.<\/p>\n

\u201cI am pro-choice, but I\u2019m a little squishy and always have been,” he said<\/a>. He explained that after the difficult birth of his older sister, his mother was advised not to have any other children. When she became pregnant with him, he became a target for abortion.<\/p>\n

\u201cKnowing that I could have been on the cutting room floor\u2026,\u201d he said, giving a disturbing but accurate description of abortion<\/a>\u00a0at which the audience laughed.<\/p>\n

He tried to walk back his comments, gesturing to his stomach and saying, \u201cI get it, as long as it\u2019s [the baby] still in you\u2026\u201d<\/p>\n

Then U.S. Representative Katie Porter (D-California),\u00a0a guest on the show, interjected, arguing that Maher\u2019s mother had a choice of whether or not to abort him and quipped, \u201cWe\u2019re all here with the consequences of that choice.\u201d Porter\u2019s joke that everyone is suffering because Maher\u2019s mother didn\u2019t kill him was met with raucous laughter and applause.<\/p>\n
