In the wake of pro-abortion companies AMC, Disney, and Netflix threatening to take their filming business out of Georgia if the state’s latest abortion law goes into effect, Connecticut’s governor has invited the companies to do business in his state.<\/p>\n

“Here in Connecticut, I am particularly proud that support for protecting the ability of women to make informed decisions about their health and bodies is not only strong, but it is also bipartisan,” said Democrat Governor Ned Lamont<\/a>. “We will continue to do everything in our power to protect women’s healthcare rights, and stand in solidarity with businesses who feel the same. We wholeheartedly agree with and support the position of these companies and urge them to consider Connecticut.”<\/p>\n

In Connecticut, abortion-on-demand is legal up until viability. After that point, abortion is permitted to save the mother’s health —\u00a0a loophole<\/a> that allows for abortion for socioeconomic reasons such as familial as well as emotional health. In actuality, abortion — the intentional and targeted destruction of a human being in utero — is never medically necessary<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Connecticut’s Lt. Governor Susan Bysiewicz backed up Lamont saying, “Connecticut recently ranked third among states for working mothers. In addition to offering some of the best childcare and professional opportunities, we understand that women’s issues are economic issues. Our state strongly protects the right of women to make their own reproductive healthcare choices so that they can best support their careers and families.”<\/p>\n

Connecticut, where money trumps the lives of children, families face some of the highest taxes<\/a> in the nation. If “women’s issues are economic issues” as she states, then abortion is all about financial pressure, not choice.<\/p>\n

Pregnant women are legally protected from discrimination in the workplace, but as actress Alyssa Milano<\/a> pointed out, women in the film industry often feel the need to abort in order to keep their jobs. Historically<\/a>, women in Hollywood<\/a> have been pressured into aborting their children. This isn’t freedom, this is oppression. Women are often pressured<\/a> into abortion and not only regret that decision<\/a> but have to live the rest of their lives with an increased risk of depression, drug use, alcohol use, and suicide<\/a>. None of this seems to bother the governor of Connecticut.<\/p>\n

“We applaud Netflix’s recent condemnation of new legislation enacted in Georgia to severely curb women’s reproductive rights,” he wrote in a letter<\/a> to Netflix Chief Content Officer Ted Sarandos. “We wholeheartedly agree with and support your position, and know that this calls into question the viability of doing business in that state. We urge you to consider Connecticut.”<\/p>\n

Lamont said the same to each of the companies’ top executives in letters he sent to Bob Iger of Disney<\/a>, and Josh Sapan of AMC<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Connecticut lawmakers are deeply entrenched in the culture of death.\u00a0Some of Connecticut’s pro-abortion politicians work closely<\/a> with pro-abortion groups such as NARAL Pro-Choice CT, which recently lost<\/a> its attempt to control how pregnancy help centers advertise their pro-life services. These politicians also want to force health insurance plans<\/a> to cover abortions completely – with no copay. They have also tried to legalize assisted suicide but have failed multiple times.<\/p>\n

In addition to pro-abortion production companies, Lamont is urging<\/a> women-owned businesses in Georgia to relocate to Connecticut as well. He told them of the state’s new Governor’s Council on Women and Girls which “clearly illustrates the ways in which we prioritize the potential of ALL members of our society.” All members except the most innocent – the preborn children who could have helped to build up Connecticut’s future.<\/p>\n

Connecticut leaders dismiss the fact that viable children are being dismembered. They dismiss the fact that women in Hollywood don’t freely choose abortion but are pushed into it. This move is a sad attempt to make money off of the bodies of children killed through abortion for the sake of convenience.<\/p>\n
