According to the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.mitchellrepublic.com\/news\/government-and-politics\/4587733-noem-signs-abortion-bills-law?fbclid=IwAR2BseaSQX2Tpiwjc9TaBeE0ddRcToB3WdY1antZpIPr-FCe7vOHvTFxLsA\">Daily Republic<\/a>, Governor Kristi Noem signed five pro-life bills on March 20, 2019.<\/p>\n<p>The bills include:<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/sdlegislature.gov\/Legislative_Session\/Bills\/Bill.aspx?Bill=72&amp;Session=2019\">Senate Bill 72<\/a>, which requires abortionists to use a standardized form when obtaining consent from a woman undergoing an abortion;<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/sdlegislature.gov\/Legislative_Session\/Bills\/Bill.aspx?Bill=1055&amp;Session=2019\">House Bill 1055<\/a>, requiring parental notification and agreement for an order to withhold resuscitation;<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/sdlegislature.gov\/Legislative_Session\/Bills\/Bill.aspx?Bill=1177&amp;Session=2019\">House Bill 1177<\/a>, which requires abortionists to offer women \u00a0the option to view an ultrasound of their preborn child and hear the child\u2019s heartbeat before undergoing an abortion;<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/sdlegislature.gov\/Legislative_Session\/Bills\/Bill.aspx?Bill=1190&amp;Session=2019\">House Bill 1190<\/a>, which establishes reporting requirements for abortion procedures;<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/sdlegislature.gov\/Legislative_Session\/Bills\/Bill.aspx?File=HB1193P.htm&amp;Session=2019&amp;Version=Printed&amp;Bill=1193\">House Bill 1193<\/a>, which makes it a Class B felony to commit an abortion against the pregnant mother\u2019s will.<\/p>\n<p>Governor Noem <a href=\"https:\/\/www.mitchellrepublic.com\/news\/government-and-politics\/4587733-noem-signs-abortion-bills-law?fbclid=IwAR2BseaSQX2Tpiwjc9TaBeE0ddRcToB3WdY1antZpIPr-FCe7vOHvTFxLsA\">said<\/a>, &#8220;(Unborn babies) are people, and they must be given the same basic dignities as anyone else.\u201d She acknowledged that her ultimate goal is to protect all preborn babies from abortion, saying, \u201cOur work isn\u2019t done until abortion is eliminated completely, but this is a step forward for life.\u201d<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><iframe loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/CFZDhM5Gwhk\" width=\"640\" height=\"355\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen=\"allowfullscreen\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>READ:\u00a0<em><a href=\"https:\/\/archive.liveaction.org\/news\/south-dakota-informed-consent-abortion\/\">South Dakota passes bill requiring abortionists to tell women abortion kills a \u2018living human being\u2019<\/a><\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>This legislative session, the South Dakota Senate also passed a resolution petitioning Congress and the President to defund Planned Parenthood and strongly condemning the passage of pro-abortion legislation in New York. The resolution <a href=\"http:\/\/sdlegislature.gov\/docs\/legsession\/2019\/Bills\/SCR9P.pdf\">states<\/a> that \u201cmany South Dakotans were disgusted by the gruesome cheering at the passage and signing of New York state&#8217;s bill, and the carnage it means for innocent unborn babies.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>South Dakota has previously passed <a href=\"https:\/\/archive.liveaction.org\/news\/south-dakota-informed-consent-abortion\/\">legislation<\/a> that requires abortionists to inform women seeking abortion that the procedure will \u201cterminate the life of a whole, separate, unique, living human being\u201d and that it carries the risk of depression and suicidal thoughts for women.<\/p>\n<p>In 2015, state legislators passed a <a href=\"https:\/\/archive.liveaction.org\/news\/south-dakota-asks-supreme-court-overturn-roe-v-wade\/\">resolution<\/a> requesting that the Supreme Court of the United States reconsider its ruling in <em>Roe v.
