{"id":199740,"date":"2019-04-05T04:55:14","date_gmt":"2019-04-05T09:55:14","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.liveaction.org\/news\/?p=199740"},"modified":"2019-04-05T13:18:51","modified_gmt":"2019-04-05T18:18:51","slug":"college-student-abortion-survivors-arent-babies","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/archive.liveaction.org\/news\/college-student-abortion-survivors-arent-babies\/","title":{"rendered":"Unreal: College student says abortion survivors aren&#8217;t babies, shouldn&#8217;t get care"},"content":{"rendered":"<div style=\"margin-top: 0px; margin-bottom: 0px;\" class=\"sharethis-inline-share-buttons\" ><\/div><p>While speaking to a rather vocal group of college students about the right to life that should exist for all humans, including preborn children, Students for Life President Kristan Hawkins had a jaw-dropping encounter with a pro-abortion student who believes children at the border have more rights than babies who survive abortions.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Do you think that children that are apprehended at the border that are in U.S. government care&#8230; do you think babies [at the border] who are going to die should be resuscitated\u00a0and given care?&#8221; asks Hawkins.<\/p>\n<p>The student replies, &#8220;Yes.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Okay,&#8221; says Hawkins. &#8220;Do you believe that a baby who is born alive during an abortion at Planned Parenthood should get care?&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>The student replies, &#8220;No.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">\u00a0<iframe loading=\"lazy\" style=\"border: none; overflow: hidden;\" src=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/plugins\/video.php?href=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.facebook.com%2FHawkinsKristan%2Fvideos%2F2396791563887704%2F&amp;show_text=1&amp;width=476\" width=\"476\" height=\"606\" frameborder=\"0\" scrolling=\"no\" allowfullscreen=\"allowfullscreen\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>The student goes on to imply that we should use taxpayer dollars to give noncitizens health care but we shouldn&#8217;t give health care to American newborns who survive abortions. She also stated that babies who survive abortions and are living and breathing outside the womb <em>are not babies<\/em>.<\/p>\n<p>This is just one example of the backward thinking that exists in pro-abortion arguments. According to abortion supporters, if a baby was going to be aborted but survives, then that baby is not a human being because he was unwanted by his mother. It doesn&#8217;t matter to them if he is now a born, living, viable baby. To abortion advocates like this student, all that matters is one person&#8217;s opinion of whether or not a child&#8217;s life is of value.
