Reasons for choosing D&amp;E abortions collected from a number of women in a series of qualitative studies, included the fact that they:<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Could not imagine going through birth and knowing their baby was not going to be alive.<\/li>\n<li>Believed D&amp;E was faster and more impersonal.<\/li>\n<li>Did not want to go through a live birth.<\/li>\n<li>Did not want to see the baby because it would have been too difficult.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<div class=\"video-container\"><iframe loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/player.vimeo.com\/video\/129488042?dnt=1&#038;app_id=122963\" width=\"1000\" height=\"563\" frameborder=\"0\" title=\"Patient Decision Making about Abortion after the First Trimester\" allow=\"autoplay; fullscreen\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/div>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Kearns went on to note, &#8220;There is certainly a greater emotional burden on the provider for doing a D&amp;E than doing an induction.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p><strong>READ:\u00a0<em><a href=\"https:\/\/archive.liveaction.org\/news\/doctors-describe-impact-learning-de-abortions\/\">Abortionists describe impact of learning D&amp;E abortions<\/a><\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>A study on the effects the D&amp;E abortion had on staffers at a late abortion facility in Colorado confirms this. The report authored by late-term abortionist Warren Hern and entitled, &#8220;<a href=\"http:\/\/www.drhern.com\/pdfs\/staffrx.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">What about us? Therefore, in the second trimester, D&amp;E is performed because the procedure requires greater cervical dilation and advanced surgical skills for removal of the tissue.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>According to that\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.archivesofpathology.org\/doi\/pdf\/10.5858\/arpa.2012-0090-RA\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">report<\/a>, after the abortion, D&amp;E &#8220;specimens&#8221; are typically &#8220;examined in surgical pathology&#8221; rather than requiring an autopsy. Video footage <a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=GIlYXmG287g&amp;feature=youtu.be\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">taken<\/a> at an abortion facility operated by abortionist LeRoy Carhart shows the doctor casually describing a combination of a D&amp;E and induction abortion.
