The title reads, &#8220;Trump&#8217;s Title X rule will restrict abortion access and obstruct women&#8217;s healthcare.&#8221; The Title X rule the Times is referring to is a change that forces abortion providers to separate their abortion business from their basic family planning\/birth control services.<\/p>\n<p>But&#8230; if that Title X money <em>isn&#8217;t already propping up the abortion industry<\/em> just as\u00a0pro-lifers have claimed all along, then how could this new rule &#8220;restrict abortion access,&#8221; as the Times editorial board claims?\u00a0Secular Pro-Life pointed out the irony in a Facebook post:<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><iframe loading=\"lazy\" style=\"border: none; overflow: hidden;\" src=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/plugins\/post.php?href=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.facebook.com%2Fsecularprolife%2Fposts%2F2295748057157198&amp;width=500\" width=\"500\" height=\"406\" frameborder=\"0\" scrolling=\"no\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>The Times editorial board writes, &#8220;Some of the providers that receive Title X funds \u2014 including Planned Parenthood, which provided healthcare to 40% of all patients in Title X programs in 2017 \u2014 offer abortions as well. But those abortions are never funded by Title X dollars, since Congress has barred federal money from being spent on abortions.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p><strong>READ:\u00a0<em><a href=\"https:\/\/archive.liveaction.org\/news\/planned-parenthoods-loss-family-planning-funds-wont-hurt-women\/\">Planned Parenthood\u2019s loss of family planning funds won\u2019t hurt women<\/a><\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Let&#8217;s address this for the hundredth time: <em>money is fungible<\/em>. If Planned Parenthood gets money from taxpayers for&#8230; well, <em>anything<\/em>&#8230; then that money &#8212; because all of Planned Parenthood&#8217;s &#8220;services,&#8221; including abortion, are done in the same facilities run by the same doctors and staff &#8212; is supporting the business of abortion. And actually, the LA Times admits this, in a roundabout way:<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\"><em>Previously, Title X providers were allowed to offer abortion and other healthcare services in the same location (even with the same staff and waiting room) as long as the Title X activities were distinguishable from the non-Title X activities and costs were properly pro-rated and allocated.<\/em><\/p>\n<p>But this just proves the need to clearly separate these activities and funds. As Live Action News&#8217; Carole Novielli <a href=\"https:\/\/archive.liveaction.org\/news\/yes-your-tax-dollars-fund-abortions-at-planned-parenthood\/\">previously noted<\/a>, &#8220;&#8230; [T]he hundreds of millions in government dollars Planned Parenthood receives are <a href=\"http:\/\/www.dailywire.com\/news\/12425\/how-planned-parenthood-can-spend-taxpayer-money-frank-camp\">fungible<\/a>, acting to free up other dollars which would normally be used for salaries, facility rent, and general overhead. Planned Parenthood\u00a0<a href=\"\/news\/need-help-from-planned-parenthood-be-prepared-to-donate\/\">nets<\/a>\u00a0millions of dollars in excess revenue almost every year.&#8221; Watch:<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><iframe loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/BgB5E91lD6s\" width=\"640\" height=\"355\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen=\"allowfullscreen\"><span data-mce-type=\"bookmark\" style=\"display: inline-block; width: 0px; overflow: hidden; line-height: 0;\" class=\"mce_SELRES_start\">\ufeff<\/span><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Number and budget fudging is also how Planned Parenthood magically manages to continue claiming that its number of &#8220;abortion services&#8221; is just 3% of its total services, regardless of a significant increase in number of its abortions and a decrease in other services (see video below). Women deserve comprehensive care, and there are <a href=\"https:\/\/archive.liveaction.org\/news\/poor-women-health-centers-planned-parenthood\/\">thousands of facilities that are qualified Title X recipients<\/a> which aren&#8217;t abortion providers.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><iframe loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/qtgqxvaV-8U\" width=\"640\" height=\"355\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen=\"allowfullscreen\"><span data-mce-type=\"bookmark\" style=\"display: inline-block; width: 0px; overflow: hidden; line-height: 0;\" class=\"mce_SELRES_start\">\ufeff<\/span><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><em><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/liveactionnewsonline\/\">\u201cLike\u201d Live Action News on Facebook<\/a> for more pro-life news and commentary!<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>A headline from the Los Angeles Times has some scratching their heads.
